Currently Vegas has only 4 players with under 10-1 odds of winning MVP

    Mahomes
    Wilson
    Rodgers
    Kyler Murray

I’m pretty surprised Murray has a better shot than Ben honestly but it shows this race is purely about stats and not value to ones team.

I agree with you, but unfortunately MVP is mostly about stats.

League MVP? I'd rather he be Superbowl MVP!

Just had to check here to see if anyone caught this. He earned it, especially in that wind tunnel.

Ben would need a few more games like last week to win MVP over Murray, Mahomes, Rodgers or Wilson. That said, he has the weapons, the "return from injury" story and the offensive weapons.

No my friend....MVP is a popularity contest. Its chosen by media and fans. SB's are won by winning games. This isn't rocket science.

Not over Alex Smith, there's simply no way. Alex Smith almost died. His career was supposed to be over. An elbow injury just can't compare

I remember how so many people thought Ben's career was over as well, especially from all the MD's on this board and other talking heads. I agree Smith had the more severe injury by far but I also think the award is based on more than who was hurt the worst. In addition to severity of injury and prognosis of returning, there is, in my opinion, success (stats) and how it translated to wins and titles. Smith's comeback is meaningful but winning 5 games this year wouldn't measure up to someone who was also in doubt about continuing their career and came back to win their division title or greater. I find it hard to believe that Ben going undefeated in the regular season would not be a lock for a couple of different awards including CPOY. Unfortunately they won't want my opinion so we'll just see what we'll see about the awards later. Both are deserving and, yes, bias on full display.

Not when you factor in Murray’s rushing stats

Check your facts. The AP chooses 50 sportswriters to vote on the MVP, not fans. The Superbowl is won by winning one game. And you're not a rocket scientist.

Here the the QBs TD/TO ratio (TDs include pass and rush; TO include INTs and Fumbles):

    1. Mahomes 29/2 +27
    2. Rodgers 30/6 +24
    3. Roethlisberger 24/5 +19
    3. Murray 29/10 +19
    5. Wilson 31/13 +18
    5. Tannehill 23/5 +18
    5. Herbert 25/7 +18
    5. Brady 28/10 +18
    9. Watson 22/5 +17
    10. J. Allen 26/11 +15
    10. Brees 20/5 +15

Roethlisberger is the only QB listed that does not have a rushing TD.

Yep, great job by Ben taking care of the football this year. On a side note looking at this list - I am really impressed with Herbert. I really thought he was at least a year away from seeing an NFL field, but he’s been solid, even with a limited offseason.

No way in hell he gets it the way the defense is playing. Even if he had the best QB stats in the league, he has a built-in argument against giving it to him.

@Dreamman0@Dreamman0 said sb's were won by winning games, plural. I disagree. There is no game in football won by winning more than one game. No one said anything about what it took to get to a sb. You can lose games and still get there. You can also lose once you get there. But it's like the rest of the playoffs, every game is a one game season.

He needs to be more consistent and get on a roll to have a chance at MVP. I fear he is having a Peyton Manning type final season. If we win the SB, it will be because of our defense and a defensive player would then be the SB MVP. My money would be on TJ Watt.

Well the goal line stance by the WFT just took points off the MVP conversation.
