He has 22 TDs, and only 4 ints, most important of all he's 9-0. I would say Mahomes is the leader for MVP, Russell Wilson has become a turnover machine lately. And to think former Jets and Dolphins GM Mike Tannebaum said Ben would be the fourth best QB in the division .

In order for him to gain in the voting Mahomes would need a complete self destruction in a game with multiple turnovers and no td's or several subpar games for him that could allow Ben to match him then it comes down to the playoffs.

I think he has a better chance of becoming the Comeback Player of the Year more so than MVP. At the end of the day though SuperBowl Champion has a much better ring to it. Would love to see that more than anything.

Think Alex Smith has that wrapped up. Ben's doing more, but just the fact that Smith walked backed onto a football field after what he's been through is amazing.

I was going to start a similar thread. There is no reason for Ben not to be a very serious MVP candidate. No one in the media ever gives Ben the credit he deserves. If ever there was a year to do it, this would be the one.

But it's his Defense that's winning games.

Steelers go 19-0 with Ben throwing 7 tds 600 yards and no int in the Super Bowl...

    nfl:

“here’s why Lamar Jackson should win mvp again”

The argument could be much better if he didn't have the 3 Int performance against the Titans. That game alone sets him back from Mahomes, Murray and Brady.

I don't think he will win anything other than #7.

There are just too many people who live in his past.

    I'm perfectly fine with that.

Win it this year and come back next year to tie Terry. Ben is having one of his best seasons ever with the players he has around him on Offense.

Yep, Ben will have to live forever with his early years but the key is that he turned his **** around and became one of the best ever.

Mahomes has to fall off of a cliff for Big Ben to have a shot. Let us not forget Aaron Rodgers though. 26 TDs to 3 INTs is definitely MVP worthy.

Big Ben has some serious competition to go up against. That said, I have not seen Big Ben in the MVP Race like this at all. Even if he does not win MVP, being a CPOY is not a bad distinction either.

MVP is great...Super Bowl MVP would be much better. Sure he'd agree.

League MVP will come down to Mahomes, Rodgers and maybe Wilson, if Seahawks rebound in the next few weeks.

Let em have it. Compare Steeler MVPs to Steeler SB victories. Let em have thier prize...one is earned on the field, the other is earned impressing sportscasters.

If the debate was on best QB, Ben wouldn’t be part of it.

But it is “most valuable” player. The biggest difference between Steelers being 9-0 and 8-8 is Ben.

I really don’t like Ben personally, but I believe the sentence above says it all about “valuable”.

Mahomes is the best player in the league and it’s not even close.

Finally get rid of Brady in the AFC and now this kid comes along.

Im afraid someone else will have to beat KC in the playoffs for us to have a shot.

He might not get CPOTY either, the media is pushing for Alex Smith to get it.

MVP isn't about stats. And it isn't about being the best at your position. Ben is more valuable to this team than Mahomes is to the Chiefs. That's what qualifies him for the distinction. Without Mahomes, the Chiefs would still be a good team. Without Ben, we're trying to find ways to win half our games. The only reason Mahomes is the fruntrunner is because of his insane ability. This isn't Most Talented Player. And it's not Most Popular Player. It's Most Valuable Player. And that's Ben Roethlisberger.
