@Roonatic@Roonatic hit the nail on the head. Talent alone does not win Football Games. For that matter, the NFL ≠ NCAA.

The whole "play down to the level of competition" statement has been outrageously overplayed to the point of said statement being more contagious than COVID 19. The NFL is anything but a "Talent Supercedes All League". Talent is great to have but discipline, execution and teamwork are critical as well. This does not just stem for players but Coaches as well.

Has Tomlin made some serious gaffes?! Without a doubt; the Artie Burns selection being the one that I still cannot forget about. Does that, along with other incidents like extending AB or even signing Mike Mitchell, make me think any less of him?! Absolutely not.

For that matter, to put the whole AB story into a bit of context, at one point in time, Randy Moss, the NFL's most dominant receiver, was traded to the New England Patriots for a Fourth Round pick. 2007 was history of course. After that though, how long did Moss last against Belichick?! What about Andy Reid and T.O.?! Heck, even John Harbaugh brought in a malcontent in Earl Thomas III who turned out to have far deeper issues than many thought, myself included.

In short?! Every coach, no matter how great, has made some serious errors. Tomlin is no different. That said, Tomlin's successes far outweigh his failures.

Currently, the only playoff teams (using week 7 as a cutoff) with better strength of victory than us are Kansas City and Tampa Bay. As they say, you can only beat who you play.

What’s your point? Those 5 wins contributed to the 6th. 7-0 is possible

When they signed Mitchell he was coming off a good season with the Panthers I think.

He was. However, when he was with us, there were only minor bright spots. He could hit..... but that was it. Little to no splash came from him.

The only waves he made were on Social Media.

I'm not the biggest tomlin fan because some of the most basic areas as a coach he has struggled in like, clock management, challenges, letting players run amuck with no accountability, losing to inferior teams way to often and the standing on the sideline **** he pulled against the ravens years ago was cowardly and as unsportsmanlike display as I have ever seen and have a hard time letting it go. That move went against Steeler nation and the Steeler culture as far as I'm concerned.

With all that whining of mine out of the way I'm super pleased with how things are going at this present time and win or lose I think if he keeps the team on course they will be alright. I've been waiting to see what tomlin would be able to do once all of cowhers players were gone and we finally got to see what his defensive mind could build and it looks really good at this point. Mike's still lucky he's got #7 back there though because it wasn't until he got there that cowher got over the hump. I hope Mike takes them all the way while we still got Ben because SB wins help people forget all the bad stuff. We got a hell of a shot if injuries don't destroy us or we crumble from within. Anyway go Steelers!!

And while my memory doesn't serve me as well as it used to, I remember a lot of times when he extended the opponents drives by stupid penalties.

@steelersrule6@steelersrule6 = A crotchety old **** who lives alone but has created a second personality so that he has someone to argue with. As @jeh1856@jeh1856 pointed out, both of those personalities think they have never lost an argument and can't see that that means they have never won one either because their only purpose is to argue.

So we hired a guy; and it won't make a difference now? Makes sense. Really? I guess the new guy hasn't done anything to alter our offense, right? So we shouldn't have brought him on because there wasn't anything we needed to do but just be like last year. Who is in charge of personnel who hires coaches that aren't needed?

It might be helping Ben, because he's a legit QB, Mason/Duck not so much.

I honestly can't believe that you can't see this, you usually display a little common sense.

If my newborn grandson were appointed the new OC for the Steelers, two things would be certain to happen.
    1. As long as Ben was in, the offense would look good because it would matter what my grandson did.
    2. If Ben went down, the offense would look pathetic.
    Sound familiar?
