I'd like to know what the mathematical probability is that a four team division could be this wretched this far in to a season.

actually I was just the opposite lol. If you go 8-8 or worse you lose home play off. I get that they are a division winner, but honestly with with only the top seed getting a bye and H/f advantage I think it is time to re-evaluate the seedings in the p/o's. Yes some importance should be placed on division winner as you do not want to lose the rivalry that makes each division so unique. That said, the regular season should have an added element of meaning for team that possibly goes 11-5 or even greater and does not win their division. Just think of the implications, a division winner is sitting at 8-7 and really has no motive to play their starters for the last game...now they do, becaseu if they lose they are actually going on the road instead of home field. This element would make games more meaningful.

That tie may just come back to haunt them. I mean if you are going to suck you might as well be stink 1-15 instead of 1-14-1 lol.

Anything that would work so that a .500 or worse division winner wouldn't get a home playoff game. I think your right. 9-7 should be the Mendoza line.

Giants QB threw a beautiful ball and Ingram dropped it. It's what poor teams do.

Steelers and Ravens didn't really blow the eagles out.

And then all I'll hear is something like, hey, just get in the playoffs, anything can happen.

Steelers do what we all know they do.
Let teams back in all the time.

Ravens were very uncharacteristic at the end of that game.
They gave up defensive penalties and just looked tired or not even into it.

@steel machine@steel machine @Jammasterc@Jammasterc every single NFC east team is trash. None will do anything this year. If Dak was playing maybe they win a playoff game. Wentz is awful. Vs fast starting teams eagles will be obliterated.

We are both holding you to that:) I always remember the Steelers once started 1-4 and turned their season around. I know the eagles are nowhere near as strong as the 76 Steelers but the point is that teams can start bad and get tougher as season goes along. (or weaker)

You’re right but it would take a miracle for them to do something and I just don’t see it. Maybe 7-8-1 will be their ceiling but even then their schedule is tough in the end. Skins cowboys have easy schedules after us.

Indeed, the Seahawks stunned the world in the playoffs opener: "The team won the NFC West with a 7–9 record. They became the first team in a full season to finish with a sub-.500 record and make the playoffs, a berth which was by virtue of winning the division. The 2010 Seahawks also became the first sub-.500 team to win a playoff game with their home win against the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, remembered in NFL Lore as the Beast Quake game, but then had their season ended by the second-seeded Chicago Bears in the divisional round."
