Some nimrods here think I hate Tomlin because I point out things, to the Tomlin apologists, where Tomlin could be even better.

My criticism has always been that he is lax with discipline and stubborn with clock management and challenges.

The first three games of the season we saw the same old undisciplined defense where players were committing stupid penalties and allowing an inferior team into the game.

For the last two weeks, I have noticed a difference. Let's hope it continues!

    1. We have not committed foolish penalties.
    2. Yesterday, I saw Tomlin adamantly barking at a defensive player, while pointing to his head. Because of the mask, you couldn't read his lips but I can only assume he was telling the player to "use your head!" "play smart"!

The discipline was my biggest complaint about him. Ahole Brown seemed to take a penalty after every TD he scored with his BS antics. No regard for his defensive teammates who it hurt. Tomlin should have called him out on that.

I never was a Tomlin hater. IMO the Steelers have had 3 damn good HC's the past 50 years.

I know right. It’s not like we already had a Mike Tomlin thread that was two pages long.

So, is this a Tomlin appreciation thread or a Tomlin complaint thread? I’m confused. With their record, both seem appropriate.

He still sucks as a coach, its the team out there not him playing. 1 bad loss and we'll see 4 threads of the same arguments

It's tough for some of us old purists to realize that the kids of today couldn't care any less about achievement or work ethic. They are only motivated by notoriety and stats, team be damned.

And the coaches put the players in position to win, with their schemes and game plans .

Tomlin doesn't suck, he is just headstrong and refuses to accept that he could improve with a little self reflection. If he fixed the couple glaringly obvious shortcomings, he could be one of the best ever.

I simply don't get how a guy can watch film 6 days a week and see that discipline costs us games, but ignore it?

You must not be paying attention, it hasn't cost us any games this year, we are 5-0. But, it has allowed a few games this year to become close which should never have been close. And it has cost us many games in the past.

And maybe you didn't bother to read the original post.

Or maybe common sense doesn't appeal to you?

    Just so we’re straight.
Guy starts a thread titled “Kudos to Tomlin” Then goes on to blast Tomlin.

Side note: There was already a Tomlin thread going on.

    Look at me!!!

You sound pissy. Jealous that someone else is getting attention? Hey everyone, Glenn is speaking. Pay attention to him or he'll wet himself. He used to do that at his birthday parties when he missed his turn riding the pony.

This was probably one of Mike's best prepared team efforts of recent. Maybe top 5 all time. A total beat down of an up and coming division rival. It was so one sided that the Cleveland organization should have made the players chip in for the waste of gas money for the bus rides to Pittsburgh and back.

Kudos Mike. Now let's see that again this week Vs. the undefeated Titans.

Sweetcheeks, you are a laugh a minute! I understand that limited gray matter makes it tough to comprehend much more than yes or no, on or off, left or right, so it's easier to just laugh at you. But .....should you ever want to actually think for a second..... I gave Tomlin credit because for two games now he seems to have eliminated the stupid penalties, and seems to have his heart in the moment. Now here comes the hard part for your limited gray matter.......He still has a long standing reputation for lax discipline.

    Don't let your head explode!

    On second thought.....please do!
