It would be interesting to see which posters whined about this selection a few months ago

Our warhorse was feeling discomfort in his throwing arm and grabbing at his forearm just like last season before he got shut down. Let's hope the glue factory isn't calling because Optimus Prime won't catch 3 balls a game from any other qb on our roster, let alone 3 td's.

Why don't you take a few months and figure that out. Come back here in late January and let us know what you found out.

Let me guess you were leading the charge on that one. Perhaps you should take some of your own advice.

It looked like Johnson isn't fully recovered from his concussion.

Chase does look real as stated .. I am more conerned with JuJu and Johnson as JuJu just doesn't seem right to me and DJ can't seem to stay healthy..I have real concerns that JuJu may have lost a step or lost some explosion on his breaks .. We may need all our young WR'S to play bigger roles that other young WR looked pretty good as well..

Ive been a fan so long, I remember when Lev Bell and AB were relevant in the NFL.

Watching Mapletron made me remember when AB scored 4 times in a game..oh...wait..yeah. that never happened.

AB made Ben who he is???

Ben without AB - 46,298 yards 299 TDs 2 Rings

AB without Ben - 56 yards 1 TD

Honestly....I hope AB gets his life together. Really was sad to see his fall. I am not sure his ego will ever allow him to play football again. Only way anyone takes a chance on him is at a very club friendly deal where he can be cut if the OLD AB shows his head. Considering the Steelers made him the highest paid WR in 2017 and it was not enough...then the Raiders made him the highest paid again in 2019 and it was not enough.

He can either sign a vet min with incentives and actually play again....or can hold out for cash and watch from home.

Honestly...I would offer him a 2 year deal...no signing bonus....the first year is really just to eat up his legal problems and suspensions....the second year is to prove you can still play after 2 years away and 2 years older and you love the game enough to be part of a team and not just your AB brand.

Sorry for the AB rant...just was thinking out loud.

I think you will start to see more JUJU. Chase will start getting more and more attention which will start to open up things for the rest.

He was recovered from the concussion, he had a back injury vs the Eagles.

Johnson looked like he was dazed, in addition to the back injury. But if you stayed in a Holiday Inn last night, I will defer to your expertise.

I think teams are using his suspension time to see how/if his legal trouble concludes. I also think he wants to play again but won't play with a subpar qb. 2 years out of the league won't be helping him but I see him as one that trys to play forever, kicking & screaming on his way out.

I will admit I wanted the Steelers to draft Denzel Mims, the Jets drafted him, but I wasn't whining about the Claypool selection.

They showed Ben at different times on the first two drives looking at and flexing his forearm. It was the same look and reaction he had last season before the pain really hit him. Didn't see him doing it after the second drive, though. He started doing it right after the first sack. He got taken down kind of hard and fell on his right side with throwing arm under him. Might have been something completely unrelated to the injury/surgery. I'm nervously optimistic.

"That was a new formation we put in this week," Roethlisberger said of the final TD pass. "With Ray-Ray (McCloud) in the game, taking the back out ... we expected them to go with an all-out blitz. But they sat back in cover-two and it wasn't what we expected. I saw that and changed the play. The coolest part is we've never run the play I called with that formation or that group on the field, so Chase had never been in that spot; Ray-Ray had never been in that spot. The other three kind of know what they were supposed to do, but, yeah, we changed the play and I can't say enough about Chase getting down the middle of the field and making that play for us."

Stuff like this is even more exciting for me than the outcome of the play. It's stuff like this that makes me think we've got a superstar in the making. We just need to make sure he's got a qb to throw to him for a long time. The scary thing is that he might have Ben for a couple years and then his talent might be wasted here.

I am not too sure about that. Remember, Big Ben is what we can call a "creature of the moment". If Big Ben trusts someone, no matter who they are, they will get their catches more than the rest.

Case in point?! We might be looking at Chase Claypool slowly becoming the number one Wideout.

Read yesterday that he had a 4 TD game for Notre Dame less than a year ago. This kid is ready. Thing is, JuJu came out of nowhere as well. A few years ago, we were totally geeked about this kid who lost his bike and was the perfect compliment to AB. JuJu is still a really good receiver. But his trajectory hasn't remained pointed up since his arrival. Let's hope we don't see a repeat of that with #11.

Claypool had a lights out game and made it looked like easy and was having fun. A breakout? Lets see some more first. But if this kid can duplicate his efforts or close to they may have found their #1. This would make a big payday to Juju moot. Only time will tell.

Lets see him burn the clowns!

Very happy for Claypool, but its a great thing that the Steelers have a had a different leading WR in every game.

Juju can get you, Claypool can get you, Washington can get you, and Johnson (when healthy) can get you.

Screw the four wide receiver sets, I want ground and pound with Conner, because that is Steelers football.

Uhm...I also think it's time to take #11 off of special teams.
