I never was a Nascar fan but my respect for them is high. When people say bad **** about it, I tell them to get in their car and get up to 80-90 MPH a few inches behind the car in front of you and then you'll respect the talent these guys have.

I did follow for a short time when Jeff Gordon was in his prime but guys who really followed the sport told me he was disliked by a lot of fans.

 

I'm on a hunger strike today since the NFL has taken away my Sunday joy.

I worked for Home Depot for a year in 2000 and you are forced to like Tony Stewart. The Sunday morning meeting all new employees get grilled about what is your favorite color, I said blue not orange, who was your favorite driver , I said I didn't have one but if I did Mario Andretti. Had Tony Stewart shouted at me. I was lucky the didn't try to force the Falcons on me or there would have been words

Gordon was my favorite. Everyone hates someone who wins a lot. (We see it here with the Patriots) These guys are topping 200mph. Very tough.

 

Gordon was eerily like Tom Brady. Proven winner time and time again, endorsement deals up the wazoo and a hot wife that he cheated on(that happened with Gordon right?) Lots to make the haters, hate there you know.

 

This explains a lot.

 

Yeah he did get caught cheating on his wife. Not the smartest thing to be doing. I’d imagine when you’re in the spot lite that it’s hard to resist the women that are pursuing.
