I'm sure he sings a different tune if the shoe was on a Steeler foot. KnoxVegasSteel wouldn't flip-flop like your hero.

You'll see. Going to run out of bye weeks to shift around here soon. Then the NFL is going to have to take a hardline and you will be bitching.

NFL was threatening suspensions for not wearing a mask properly. If they find out they are not following protocols I think they should absolutely suspend those offenders

Afraid not SDOT. I'm aware what the NFL is up against & am fine with their 'seat of their pants' responses. Forfeiting games only works as a last resort. Buy your toilet paper now before it's too late.

It is what it is at this point. Already did my whining in the other thread about hindsight. That said I checked the 2010 schedule, that year the Steelers bye was week 5, they played a very similar schedule NFC South opposed to NFC East). By similar I am referring to travel, the longest trip this year is Dallas, the rest relatively very short flights. Still a lot of if's on how covid is going to affect the leagues whole schedule, but getting a bye at nearly the same time they last went to the Super Bowl is some good Karma..at least I hope, lol.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought it was @SDOT’s favorite player DK Metcalf that said it.

There has been talk of that, fines as well as forfeiting draft picks.

    Hey STEELWINDS

Just last year not more than 5 miles from my castle a guy was shot in the back of the head while driving due to someone's feelings about who had the right of way. The wild wild west making a comeback here in Tampa.

A forfeit does nothing but open a larger can of worms. Imagine the playoff picture where the Titans win their division with a record of 14 and 2 with one of those two games being the forfeit to Pittsburgh. Now imagine a scenario where they have identical records but because of the head to head match-up the game is played in Pittsburgh in January. If the Titans lose do they protest? Do they even play? What happens if the forfeit forces them to play wildcard weekend on the road? Its just an ugly scenario anyway hou slice it.

I said it in the other thread, and I'll say it again. I highly doubt the NFL is even considering making Tennessee forfeit. A local sports beat writers opinion doesn't hold much weight in all honesty.

Maybe they should have taken this seriously and never let it spread so bad?

What about the fact they were going to miss some key starters to injury this weekend? Are they gaming the system?

That's why you play the games when they were scheduled months ago. If you can't show up then you forfeit.

I take it with a grain of salt. There are so many beat writers and radio personnel in town that if they all had the same take on a subject, hardly any of them would be acknowledged. I think DK was just being provocative. I can't believe he'd be serious enough to think that a forfeited game is the right way to handle the situation. If the Super Bowl ends up being played in March or April then so be it. Nothing has been normal for the other sports leagues, pro or amateur so why would anyone think things will be different for the NFL?

Was this supposed to be in green? I mean seriously you cannot be that blind after this stuff has been going on for 6 months and is still rampant in society. There were players and staff infected, all of them could have been practicing social distancing, and the other precautions in daily life and still get the virus. This is not just about the players and other professional staff. Though there is limited contact, they still go home to families, travel on flights, stay in hotels, etc. Frankly I am surprised there has not been more if this, and likely will happen much more. Gaming the system? Come on man. Forfeiting? Nice call until ***** that those possible 3 forfeits the Steelers have to make cost them a chance at the playoffs. I do not like this current scheme at all, but I also do not like the fact my boss called in today and said he was quarantining for 2 weeks because his daughter contacted the virus..and we religiously practice every CDC guideline. Frankly put, if I get this crap as a 60 year old diabetic fat man my chances are not good. Yet I still have to work, and refuse to let this stuff stop me from living (until it kills me).

Football is just a game, even when the Steelers play. This crap has hit us all, you have no idea how seriously they did, or did not take it, bottom line it's just a game, may be we should focus more on the health of those involved. no?

What exactly is a KnoxVegasSteel? I don't believe any of those places produced Steel. Are you from Knoxville or something? Because then your sympathy for a redneck team in the south is starting to make sense.

For poop and giggles I like to figure out board names. Only mention this since SDOT posted to you about it. From your name I had you as a person from Tenn. who loves Vegas and the Steel is obvious.

My name came from my son who as a youngster would ask me if the Steel Machine are playing.
