I agree this is the Titans issue as I have been saying not the Steelers. They should be the one to pay the biggest penalty not the Steelers. Like I says if that means playing the game with no practice time then so be it. Or sucks for the Titans but it’s their problem and they are the ones who should suffer the consequences not the Steelers just because they play them this week.

It doesn’t just affect the Titans. It potentially affects everyone these people have come into Contact with. It also has the chance of affecting the Steelers. Not just the players. Their families, the coaches, their families, staff, their families...

mucking around with this and hoping it would magically disappear is exactly why we are leading the world in infections. India has over a billion more people than we do. Yet we still have more infections.

 

It is cold to look at it that way. Like I said, people have families they have to think about. Just because you didn't opt out, doesn't mean you are not worried when something like this happens.

 

While I do think it is a disadvantage for both the Vikings and Titans... how big? I'm not sure. It's not like the NFL allows hitting during practices during the season. I think you are only allowed pads so many times a year once the season starts The disadvantage comes from meetings and film prep at this point. But I'm sure most of that can be done online to some degree.

The game should be played with whoever is negative assuming they can suit up 53. If the leagues starts moving bye weeks and altering schedules for every positive case the season will never finish.


The real question is can TOMLIN out game plan a team that literally couldn’t even put one together?

 

Maybe somebody already mentioned this, but I don’t see how a make-up on our bye week could work since the Titans are already playing somebody else that week.

 

I don't know but your people need to really start taking this virus seriously.

 

They were saying move the Ravens bye week back 1 so we play Tennessee week 7 and Ravens week 8

OK I see. I’m trying to figure out what was the purpose of all the special roster exemptions for Covid if only to postpone games anyway.

Exactly. That’s why unless a team is hit with 15-20 positives and literally can’t field a team the game should be played with PS players.

I said my piece earlier in this thread about this being a disadvantage to the Steelers Organization and that this isn’t the only team that will be effected by COVID in 2020. I also think maybe the NFL instead of worrying about preseason BLM appeasement should have their rules ready to go around The game they are responsible for managing. Also one other note to be fair to Titans, how do we know their last week’s opponent (the Vikings) didn’t infect them at their game last week. Remember people can be carriers without showing signs. So maybe the Titans Organization did do everything correct but every week brings new issues and not just football.

 

Titans coach stated "if no practic3 or walk thru, we go out and play. No excuses." disinfect the whole place, retest and get their b3st 53 negatives out there.
I like their coach mindset, but, probably why their in this mess to begin with.

 

The underlying problem is a lack of direction and leadership from the league. We shouldn't be having this conversation because a contingency plan should have been decided on and spelled out before the season started. Something like, "If enough of a team's roster is confirmed infected during the practice week so that the team cannot field a complete team, that team will forfeit." Or if they were going to consider making up games, say that. But have a clearcut plan to be able to have makeup games actually work.

 

Since we are on the topic of the virus we need to start getting back to normal around here more and more. The cases are way down across the country from the last few months and the survival rate of this virus is well over 99 percent if you look at the numbers closely for people 65 and younger without any underlying conditions. The purpose of the shutdown earlier was to flatten the curve and stop the spread and we did that the last 6 months and now it’s time to get back to normal. You can’t continue to have businesses shut down all over the country and kids learning remotely out of a school everyday. There are gonna be cases still but cases don’t equal death like the media and so many fear mongering people try to make you believe everyday.
