Let's assume the Steelers continue to roll; they play hard nosed football, and they win the division. Who do you see being instrumental in the success?

I expect a couple youngsters to shine but I am listing the guys I expect to be simply solid.

Ben..........I just love the guys drive to win!

TJ............I just love the guys motor!

Ju Ju........I just love the kids zest for life!

Minkah......I just love the guys instinct, although it hasn't shone yet this year.

We only go as far a Ben takes us. All other players attribute their personal success and team accomplishments to the QB's health and on field ability. Nothing more, nothing less as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that "A LOT" rides on Ben but we need continued great play from some other key members.

Agree. Next biggest factor is TJ by a long shot. Ben is what drives the offense and TJ is the biggest puzzle piece of the defense. Either one goes down and as HeinzMustard puts it "We're Doomed".

Connor, Snell, McFarland. We keep up the rushing attack, and that takes a ton of pressure off Ben.

Tuitt, Heyword, Alualu. We continue to shut down the rushing attack and make teams one dimensional.

If/when we face the ravens or chiefs in the playoffs, he has to be on point in communicating with everyone else and covering kelce or andrews.

They all need to just do their jobs. For instance, a OL misses a block and Ben gets sacked and out for the year. Each part of a machine needs to be instrumental for it to work.

James Conner is coming off his best game since 2018. We need him to continue rolling. When JC is healthy and confident he is our most complete back. If his play continues to trend upward, that will go a long way toward the Steelers winning the division, conference, and beyond.

This is something I have been watching. In the opener, after he was taken out, the look on his face was one of injured pride rather than injured ankle? Was he benched?

It's the players in between the stars who are the most instrumental for me.

Alualu, Sutton, Hilton, Feiler, Chuks, those kind of guys.

I'd say the guy who comes up with a cure for covid would be the biggest help for a strong Steeler team.

I fear we start kicking ass and that virus shuts **** down again.

Our DL needs depth. I see rotation with the RB, WR, LB, even OL to a degree. The the DL is still Heyward, Alualu and Tuitt. Those big guys are going to get tire as the season progresses. I don’t want a repeat of last year where the Jets, the Bills and the Ravens B team shredded us at the end

I wonder how much of Minkah's struggles are due to having the defense explained in more detail this year. Last season was a lot of instinct and talent. They brought him along slowly and just let him play. Now it's we want to open it up for him and the things they are doing are freezing his gears. Just a theory

Wow Thorn I believe you hit the nail. I thought the same thing as it seems he is "Thinking" to much and is not naturally reacting like last season. Let him use his natural instincts within the scheme. Just like LeBeau did with Troy. But were talking Butler now. It is a concern.

I wonder if they just aren’t throwing his way as much this year, due to his performance last year.

I honestly believe he had a bit of a free hand last year given all the circumstances and now people are trying to put him in a system and, thus far, it's been a system of run-stop, and he just isn't getting the opportunities.

I loved his splach plays last year but I guess if we go 16-0 and win the SB, I will accept his new role.
