The game wasn't on here in TN so I was following along on the GameDay thread. Seems like a good run/pass mix from the stats, which is nice to see the effective run dimension. I have to assume there was some good OL play. Also, 5 sacks and an INT for the D is great. The TOP was 13+ minutes in favor of the steelers so looks like we controlled the clock well. Plus, no misses by Boz, that is definitely one for the plus column.

The Good - Bens back! We are 3-0. D-line and LBers. Young o-line stepping up. Our depth.

The Bad - Feiler and Villanueva. Nelson but this could be scheme.

    The Ugly...

    1) At one point we had Vince who has the most TFL in the NFL running 20 yards down the field with their best WR, Cooks. We are still doing this stupid ****, I think a team with at least one win will burn us with that.

    2) It looks like the secondary has regressed but it could be the scheme? Minkah has been invisible but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

    3) Once again we sit on the ball going into half and we are getting the ball back. Seems like a wasted possession. Then again in the 3rd around the 50, we go for a 4th in 1-2. It worked but could backfire imo. I just don't get the decisions of when to be aggressive. I'd be more aggressive going into half knowing I'm getting the ball back. Opposed to sitting on a possession then being aggressive in the 3rd at the 50. It could be two wasted possessions and handing them the ball at the 50. It doesn't make sense!

    4) Not utilizing players correctly. JW makes another tough grab over the middle. Then next play is a deep shot to him. He was probably gassed tbh. Why not throw that deep shot to our new big/fast WR? I don't get it.

Regarding Edmunds, the touchdowns given up is not accurate. He blew the coverage on one of the touchdowns last week. He really didn't play well at all against the Broncos until the sack, which was greatly aided by the Broncos leaving him unblocked. He made a few nice tackles today, but he also blew some coverages. As I mentioned on the game thread, one time it seemed like Vince Williams was a lone on a receiver, Edmunds was out of position. He got caught too far inside. The Steelers were just lucky Watson couldn't make the throw on that one. I think Edmunds has improved over last season, but that's a very low bar.

JW will probably never lay out for a catch again, after the heat he took for doing it his rookie year.;+)

When you watch the game on delay, do you watch the whole broadcast, or the condensed version, and/or coaches view? Just curious.

I watch the whole broadcast. I fast-forward through the commercials and some of the other stoppages in play, depending on how much time I have.

You said to play him last week, pretty close, good call.

    He looks ready.

That makes sense, since you're watching it for the first time. I rewatch it condensed, then I watch coaches view (to see what guys like Edmunds are really up to.;+))

I haven't had the time to watch the coaches view, though I may try that tomorrow.

I don't think the coaches view is available until tomorrow anyway, or later tonight maybe. I forgot it's delayed, I watch it later in the week.
They show every play from 2 angles, It can be eye opening.

I’m not going to fault Nelson on that one. He had the receiver blanketed. It took a great throw and a great catch, similar to the Ebron TD.

Coaches view on NFL game pass via CBS? Not on my computer, I just checked. Full replay and condensed game are up, coaches film says 'The All-22 coaches film footage will be available soon'.

My bad. It showed as an option, but when I clicked on it, I got the coming soon message. That's odd. The full game and condensed game don't even show up until they are posted.

Not until Tuesday, okay I couldn't remember. I don't usually watch it before Wednesday, when my wife has an evening class. She has no problem watching a Steelers game with me, but Steelers game film is pushing it.

With 21 seconds left and the ball on your own 25, it's quite a big ask on an offense that hadn't had much downfield success. I think perhaps if the Texans got the ball after the half they may have perhaps tried for something, but they were playing for a mistake-free game - which, given Watson's one mistake was the key play, turned out to be a good strategy.

Side note, but I've noticed as a whole teams seem to be much less willing to try something before the end of the half these days.

Chuk is doing extraordinarily well on the Oline. He kept Watt out of the game. Zero sacks and hurried passes
