Lock out 3-5 weeks with rotator cuff strain. I said earlier it's a reason some people are down on the league. Injuries just decimate some teams.

Sadly, I had foreseen such devastation. It still is truly heart breaking all the same.

However, there is one major player in all of this. Keep in mind the players themselves spoke on not wanting a Pre Season. Perhaps now the players and the NFLPA can understand why it is so important to condition the body for such a violent game.

The human body simply cannot be ready at a moments notice to take the abuse the NFL has at its disposal. It is simply impossible. As insidious as this will sound, let this be a lesson that the players will learn from going forward.

i heard that the NFL is looking into Jets stadium turf. 49ers were complaining that the turf was sticky and many player's foot got caught and tore their ACL. We played the Giants on the same turf but no steeler got hurt.
I think you're right that lack of preseason and lack of preparation is causing all these injuries.

Injuries happen every year. I'm not sure playing or not playing a pre-season has anything to do with it.

Yup.... Boomer, on the CBS pregame, referenced the Steelers - Giants game and said there were no injuries, as well. Perhaps this is what francobettis saw.

Not at the rate we are seeing it however. ACL injuries should not be happening at this pace. This seems to be record breaking if you ask me.

I told my guys in fantasy football that we should take the year off, we play for $100 a team.

I didn't like it with no mini-camps, a modified training camp, and no pre-season games, plus throw in Covid 19 protocol all year long.

I told them they will be dropping like flies and here we are.

We did it anyway. I'm 2-0 but have now lost McCaffery for 2-4 weeks and lost Cortland Sutton for the whole season now.
Never did get to play Courtland Sutton, he was out week 1 and didn't want to start him yesterday against the Steelers.

Helps my fantasy team in an indirect way because a few of my big hitters are injury prone to begin with.

Injuries killing my fantasy teams, McCaffrey, Barkley, Sutton ugh!

Feel bad for these guys in all seriousness, particularly Barkley. He had some injuries last year and now this. This could impact his ability to get paid

Lol, I wouldn’t mind it happening to one of my teams but both!

Very rough year for injuries though, 49ers getting completely killed.

I’m confident that a much bigger factor than preseason games or the lack thereof is very large people making quick moves and running into other very large people. Games (and practice) are minor car accidents and the more car accidents the more damage. And sometimes it isn’t even an accident. It’s just the human body being stretched to its limits with speed or cutting. Like a race car that is driven at high RPM’s for too long. The human body has limits and football repeatedly tests the limits.

Exactly, and it was such a routine move into pass-blocking position that he was making when he injured it.
