Devin Bush is a Bust.....Tomlin has clouded vision

Best way to stifle an offence like that is to win the time in possession battle and keep them off the field. If you can get a takeaway or two when they are on the field then better again. Offence and special teams has a huge part in that effort as well of course.

The 2019 Steelers D was repeatedly put in horrible situations, bad field position and being put back out there within minutes of getting big stops. If the rest of the team actually helps rather than hinders them watch out in 2020.

Troy as a rookie wasn't as good as Bush as a rookie.....Hard to compare the full career of a legend to anyone's year one.

AB didn't even catch a ball until late in his rookie year and wasn't thought of a star either. There were complaints on Shazier as well.

In regards to Mr. Bushs' first season, I was not impressed nor unimpressed with his performance . From the reviews and comments that I saw here and there, mostly from fans, I thought that for the most part the critiques were a bit "generous".

Given that, I think my expectations were not as high as probably some here. Usually the expectations for 1st Rounders are relatively high. Especially if they are, let's say, within the first 10 picks or so. Now, accompany that with fact that we moved up to "grab" him adds an extra burden in the minds of the fans for him to have this spectacular rookie season.

Remember, Mr. Bush did not ask the Steelers' Management to move up to draft him. That was the Brass' choice. That was not his call per se. Players really do not have much say in regards to where they land in the draft. If a team wants to give up all of its picks for one player than that is that team's prerogative. It is probably not going to make that player perform any better. In fact, it may add an extra burden of uncalled pressure upon that player, by himself. Maybe.

Of course, the earlier a player goes the higher the expectations. Is that "uncalled pressure" fair to the player himself? I would say no. Nonetheless, some fans (more like most) do not see it that way. Troy was the perfect example of that. He had an adequate first year. People complained. Personally, I took a wait and see approach and it turned out well. Very well.

However, like Devin, we gave up "something" to get Troy. In the end, it could not have turned out any better IMO. What a career. Completely phenomenal. If Mr. Bush comes anywhere near a Troy-Type career I will be jumping for joy. Right now, we have a great defense. IMO, I think we can be the best in the league. We are about as complete as I can remember on "D" right now. The most complete since the 70s Teams IMO. Actually, the only person that I continue to be concerned about on "D" is Samuels. Not Bush.

Remember how Troy exploded in Year#2. We all do. All the naysayers went back into their cubby holes. Patience is the key folks. Let's continue to support Mr. Bush and make an ongoing analysis as this season unfolds and then a final report card at the season's end. I think that is the fair approach IMO.

Giants fans are not nearly as good at smack talk as Eagles fans. Eagles fans are some of the best I've seen at talking crap. Look how long they had to wait for a SB victory.... I can see why they are bitter.

I'm not negative all the time. I predicted a winning record of 9-7 and 7th seed playoff berth. I'm burnt out with Tomlin as HC... and I think Ben will be a shell of his former self at QB. I hope I'm wrong.
