...if Conner goes down, does our RB room have the depth to help take us to the playoffs?

Does the FO try to bring someone else in? Who is out there? Any possible trade type scenarios?

then I think Benny Snell football moves to the forefront. I don't want to see a player go down, just like everyone else here, but this offense is stacked imo and I believe it can afford a 3-4 week absence of JC30. You still have Trey Edmunds on speed dial along with Kerryth Whyte. They automatically get a foot in the door with the "know the system" token. Snell could be the bellcow until Conner returns imo.

edit: Edmunds is on the PS already along with Smallwood. I liked Whyte as that change of pace guy so he may be an option. Salary cap this year is a tough 8 in the box if the team wants to sign a FA it seems.

any RB inserted will be at the mercy of the O-line anyway. You won't get some Tarik Cohen guy off the waiver wire. If the 0-line performs in the run blocking dept, they have the players to get to the post season

I guess it depends how BigBen changes the run game, but Edmunds and Whyte didn’t give us much when they had the chance? Maybe that changes I don’t know?

Snell was said to have been having a very good camp. I believe he is going to share a lot of time anyway. The Steelers have never been shy about using a rookie rb either. We have a capable stable of horse's.

Connor is probably the one person on the starting offense that we could lose for a significant amount of time without seriously damaging the offense.
I'm not hating on him, but the RBs we have behind him are more than capable of carrying the load. I'm seriously interested in what Anthony McFarland can add to the package.

I'm totally comfortable with the rb's we have....
Snell is ready if connor goes down and mcfarland gives us the type of home run hitter we've lacked since willie parker...... Not to mention, we all saw what kind of things samuels can do when defenses have to worry about Ben's arm.....
    We are ok

Uhhhhhhh, Disagree...Tomlin likes to take 1 back...And run his wheels off, It's ALWAYS been his MO...

Remember when DeAngelo Williams was leading the league in rushing thru week 3 with Bell suspended then, The moment Bell came, Williams got almost zero run!

THEN OBVIOUSLY, Bell gets hurt going into the playoffs... Popcorn has NEVER deviated from running the Hell out of ONE back... Can't see him changing now.. Actually, He already said as much!

I’m slightly worried about our O line situation more than RB lol

I thought Whyte was better than expected. He had 122 yards on 24 carries and had a certain explosiveness to his game. I thought he might push Samuels off the roster.

DeAngelo was also 100 years old. It's a little different when you have the #1 back in the league. Sure you are going to run him. Bell could play wr too, you don't take that off the field.

Dobbins just scored for Ravens. Should have picked Dobbins over Primus.

One game one play. No judgement can be given on much after 1 week. Only the talking heads on all those damn sport talk shows get to do that.

Dobbins looked really good. He might be the #1 RB there by end of season.

    Great Googly Moogly

Please do your homework and quite letting your hatred of Tomlin allowing you to make uninformed and inaccurate posts.

James Conner averaged 11 rushes a game last year and 16 in 2018. That is not running the wheels off him. Not even close.

Tomlin made that random comment about Willie Parker who also did not have a high carry count.

It was a random off the cuff cuff comment that Tomlin haters grab onto.

If you want to spew hate on Tomlin so be it. It’s a message board. I respect your opinion. Just don’t post inaccurate :bscow: please.

Bell only averaged 20 rushes a game his last season. That’s not running the wheels off.

Note: Pay your whores better :drinks:

If Conners is still getting 16 attempts in 2028 I will be mightily impressed :icon mrgreen:

Bell averaged 25 touches a game in his Steeler career. Tomlin ran him hard & put him up wet.

I wish Steelers would run a RB by committee the way Cowher did with Morris, John L. Williams and Pegram in '95. I haven't seen the Steelers do that since... except maybe with Dwyer and Redman.
