    I saw :lolol:

I don’t agree about the social media stuff but I get the logic behind the trade part, especially if the Steelers already know they won’t be able to afford him.

    Yeah I'm just messing around.

As far as Dobbs, he brings something to the Steelers we don't have - mobility at the QB position.

I don't think he ever develops the passing skills to start over Rudolph, but when he has the ball there's some confidence he can make something happen with his feet.

Rudolph showed some fragility last year. We got to a point last year where we needed our #3 QB for some time. I feel better with Dobbs over Duck but I still think Rudolph has the backup spot locked in and only loses it to injury.

Ahh, wrong Kurt. Don't know how I overlooked Brees. You're right, he's done okay for himself. Arguably the smartest thing he did was to get away from Dean Spanos in San Diego. He likely would still be without a Super Bowl ring had he stayed.

I think Dobbs will always be able to hang his hat on his 1st NFL reception.

At Baltimore, Ben goes out and it is 2nd and 20 from the Steelers 5. From in the end zone Dobbs throws a strike up the middle for a first down. I did not see that coming and probably saved us the game.

not to many from a school that size ever see an NFL field let alone win a couple of games. He still beat out jt Barrett and a former first round pick. I know he didn't win every game and take us to the super bowl his rookie year so he must suck. Steeler fans are so spoiled. Guilty.

Personally, I liked his let’s give it my best attitude.

My comment wasn’t meant to be negative. I don’t see him being a Super Bowl MVP, but I liked the look in his eyes better than the deer in the headlights look Dobbs has.

    Steelers QB depth chart:

    1 - the dick
    2 - the deer
    3 - the dobbs
    4 - the duck

If we get to 2, steelers are screwed.

Hey Mac, Too bad the thread did not include the bringing back of Sean Davis also.

I think it might have changed the tone of the thread[in regards to the motivation and/or necessity of the moves] a lot.

I only took a look at the board because while checking out other boards to get a feel for the fans mood going into the season, I saw a thread on another site with that subject.

I was actually shocked at the extreme disdain for the moves[both] by an overwhelming majority of the fans.

Bringing back retreads[not particularly successful ones], albeit fairly high draft picks, was not exactly met with any joyful response.

My opinion is it was not a very good PR move. My optimism level for this season which was higher than it has been for nearly a decade has sunk 50%.

I mean if the roster needs these types of strengthening moves WTF!

    Unless as strummerfan said:

"I have no problem with this move. Duck was a feel good story, but nothing more. At least Dobbs can play the role of a mobile qb and help prepare the defense to face Jackson."

---That makes sense, but in the past there have been ex-QB speedy WR's/RB's on the roster who could probably fill that role. Cedric "the entertainer" Wilson for one, probably many others

He didn't leave here on his own. In true Charger fashion, he was pushed out. You're right. He'd never sniff a SB as a Charger......
