    He’ll be back!

I would have thought Cain made it then but he was cut too.

Feel for the guy, he worked his ass off by all accounts.

As I have been saying for a while, there is just no role for him in this new offence, regardless of how tight he is with Ben.

DJ and JuJu each can play the slot, even Chase can line up in there, snaps would have been hard to come by.

Still surprising to me. I wonder if this is one of those stay by the phone things.

He may not makes it back to them, I think he will get picked up. There are a couple of teams with really bad receiver situations that could use him.

That’s what I meant by stay by the phone. A verbal agreement that they are bringing him back but just needed the roster spot to work some other things out. I don’t know what that situation would be but you see teams do that.

Lolley is reporting he expects Switzer will go to practice squad. Cut due to decastro injury and possibly cap relief

Interesting. I didn’t realize he qualified for the PS.

He'll be back, or he'll be unstoppable against us, playing with the Bengals or Browns.

Finally had someone step up & take his spot. Claypool might be starting on the outside pushing JuJu & DJ into sharing the slot.

1 yard outs off the table now.

    Hey steelersrule6.

For me, the only one I will really miss is Whyte. I have made my stance numerous times about him. It is his speed. He was probably the fastest player on the team. I envisioned him being used on a set number of plays that would be designed to get him out into space. In addition, for Kick-Offs and Punt Returns as well. Admittedly, I do not know about the "sureness" of his hands as we all know is so critical for handling the KO and PR duties. Remember, he ran a 10.5/100 meter dash. I will say it again, that is flying. Speed is always a good thing to have on the team. Fichtner needed to get creative with this young man IMO. Not happy with this cut.

Moving on, Fichtner has plenty of Offensive weapons as I have pointed out here recently. We are stacked.

    • WRs: JuJu, Washington, Johnson and Claypool

    • TEs: McDonald and Ebron

    • RBs: Conner and Samuels (great hands check-downs and set plays)

A healthy Ben, a bounce-back for the O-Line (which I see) and our "O" is looking real good folks, real good!

They have MacFarland now as a speed RB, although it would've been nice to keep Whyte on the practice squad.

    Hey steelersrule6.

Good point about MacFarland. Honestly, I have not done my homework on this young man. Again, it is my love for Speed that gravitates me to Whyte. Yes, if nothing else, the PS would have been good for Whyte. At least he would still be "connected" with us.

Just another "okay" wide receiver at best who had chances but never separated from the pack.

It seems to me that McCloud took Switzer's job, which wasn't that difficult given what we saw last season. The guy is nearly useless on returns, and they don't need him in the passing game. I think we are going to see fewer four-receiver sets, anyway, with Ebron taking some of those snaps.

would have liked Whyte over Samuels but hey, this offense has a ton of options and its just nitpicking at this point.

Skipper got the axe I see..he isn't a practice guy (using his words), lack of games did not work in his favor for sure. Loved and wanted the Highsmith pick so I'm good to go there anyway.

I have this terrible feeling he is going to be back after Decastro’s injury clears.
