So if the 2020 NFL season is cancelled due to COVID19, what happens to the 2021 NFL draft? How will the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes unravel? I say the Steelers would draft Trevor Lawrence with the #1 overall pick after Mike Tomlin defeats Bill Belichick in a game of poker for the first pick in the 2021 draft.

Tomlin would never beat Bill at poker. Bill would have a royal flush in his sleeve. Who should we get at #2?

I subscribe to the "lotteries are fixed" newsletter. Where would they want Lawrence to go? Vegas? Probably the NFC so he can meet Mahommes in the SB. Washington Football team?

Something similar to a Draft Lottery. Remember the NHL 2004-2005 Season got wiped out due to a lockout. That said, never mind the differing circumstances, the NFL has resisted such an idea due to the fact that a lost season should not be connected with a better status in the draft.

Even assuming the NFL does perform an NFL Draft Lottery, what would the criteria be in terms of receiving the Number One Overall pick?! Would it be similar to the NHL in which teams that had not been to the playoffs in addition to not having a number one pick receieve a greater chance?! Would it be something else?!

Whatever the case may be, we will have to wait and see. One thing is for certain though. Players like Caleb Farley from Virgina Tech will more than likely opt out of 2020 all together.

Even with a limited NFL season and enough to lock down draft order, the 2021 draft is going to be quite interesting. So many unknowns for the college season as well, but if many players opt out, and some possibility of a spring season (unlikely, but who knows). The NFL scouts will have limited 'current' data. This could lead to some teams scoring very high end players under the radar, and of course the opposite..reaching and getting a lot of busts. I also think we may see more tryout camps to include this years released UDA's and other 'missed' prospects. There is going to be a lot of talent looking for opportunities.

If potentially good players stay for their final year, that drops the value of what you get in the early rounds. Considering how much money you would be giving to Joe blow, I think you would better off trading all of your draft picks next year for more/better picks the following year. Then spend next years money extending players or maybe a FA. Plus, with the drop in cap next year, free agents are going to be bargains.

Kickoff is only 6 weeks away. It’s like advertising Christmas in November? That isn’t early?
