    According to Pro Football reference:

6th in points last year beating up on Washington & the Giants.
Offensive scheme - Air Coryell :roflmao: (they have Zeke)

    Defense was legit for about the 5 first games then;
Gave up 34 to the Pack in Dallas
    24 to the leaderless Jets
    28 to the Vikings
26 to Buffalo late season in Dallas
    31 to the juggernaut Bears

Looks like Dak (my fantasy starter last year) needs to put up about 30 a game. We all know about the 30pts. a game offense, KC maybe but that's about it.

Dak’s a solid QB, but he’s no Russell Wilson. That’s crazy money for him.

Reads like it is fake news to me. Coming straight from the Agents mouth.

Funny there is absolutely nothing in the article at all about Guaranteed money!

It means they won't be able to put a supporting cast around them. IE Ben R. and he has actually won 2 superbowls
but we can't get quality FA because of his cap hit. Wait till Balt/ KC have to pay. They will come down to earth.

They'd be better off with Dalton.

There wont be any big contracts handed out this season, it's estimated the nfl will lose 4 to 5 billion this year in revenue and they are negotiating with the union now as to how to stem the flow of red ink, including players on big contracts giving back a few million of the money they already received.

Whether or not Dak deserves the money should by no means by the talking point of discussion. I do not know too many plug n play options Jerry Jones can play with come the 2021 NFL Draft sans Trevor Lawrence. Beyond him, no other Quarterback would be capable of immediately stepping in and assisting the Cowboys; weapons like CeeDee Lamb or otherwise.

Dak will earn his money either with the Cowboys or someone else. He has a resume that will allow him to obtain that contract. Even if said resume is not to the levels of a Patrick Mahomes or even Russell Wilson, the aspect of Dak becoming a free agent has nothing to do with him being on the level of the aforementioned QBs.

It has everything to do with Dak Prescott being free. The QB market is set to be reset yet again anyway.

Cannot say I am surprised. Dak caved in as expected. Jerry Jones should thank COVID 19; an insidious yet necessary form of thanks at that. Had it not been for this disease, I seriously doubt Dak would have signed.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. He has career NFL earnings of less than $5 million. A cool $31.4 million guaranteed would provide instant lifetime financial security. Signing the tag for 2 straight years paid off well for Kirk Cousins.

Dak needs the money. Will he be better than Romo?

    True....

However, Dak Prescott had far more leverage than Kirk ever did. Not many QBs on Rookie Contracts that are not First Rounders have accomplished what Dak has done. Add the fact that Dallas was on record last season stating that a deal will get done soon yet to post pone said deal adds more weight to Dak's claim.

COVID 19 turned out to be a safety net for Jerry Jones. Without any meaningful way to train in addition to the unknown of how much longer this disease will last, a pandemic saved the Dallas Cowboys from a nasty holdout.

    J. Witten coming back? ARod's best seasons had a good te under McCarthy.

They should have done a long term deal with him last off season when he became eligible, they had the cap space and it was only ever going to get more expensive. I like Dak, he is a solid QB, possibly top 10 or very close and good enough to get to the big game if he has the pieces around him. I don’t think it’s worth making him the highest paid player in the game though if that is indeed what he is looking for.

    This.

Jerry Jones is responsible for all of this. Essentially, he is broadcasting to the entire league that he is putting all of his eggs into one basket.... again. That did not work out so well in 2019. However, with the likes of CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs, perhaps Dallas' fortunes will be a bit better.

That said, I am still in the minority to see to it that the Redskins play spoiler late in the season.
