Did some stat searching to see how we held up to others:

    Tied for 5th in points:
    1. Patriots
    2. Bills
    3. Ravens
    4. Bears
    5.Vikings 18.9
    6. Steelers 18.9

    5th in yards per game:
    1. Patriots
    2. 49ers
    3. Bills
    4. Ravens
    5.Steelers

    Passing yards per game:
    1. 49ers
    2. Patriots
    3. Steelers
    4. Bills
    5. Chargers

    QB rating vs us:
    1. Patriots
    2. Ravens
    3. Bills
    4. Steelers
    5. Chiefs

    Rush average against:
    1. Buccaneers
    2. Jets
    3. Steelers
    4. Giants
    5. Raiders

    Rushing TD's allowed:
    1. patriots
    2. steelers
    3. colts
    4. vikings
    5. broncos

    Sacks:
    1. Steelers
    2. Panthers
    3. Saints
    4. Rams
    5. Vikings

    Takeaways:
    1. Steelers
    2. Patriots
    3. seahawks
    4. vikings
    5. bucaneers

    Redzone defense:
    1. Denver
    2. minnesota
    3. Cincinatti
    4. Pittsburgh
    5. Tampa bay

Lead the league in takeaways and sacks, while top 5 in every defensive statistic besides rushing yards per game, all while having the 27th ppg, 30th ypg in offense and 26th time of possession.

Steelers were 3rd in DVOA, and 1st in weighted DVOA(better as the season went on)

And before anyone says our defense is not as good as the other top 5's...

    1. Patriots -gave up 37 to ravens, 28 to texans, 27 to dolphins with playoffs on the line
    2. Bills - gave up 31 to eagles... other than that cant lie they have been good.
    3. Ravens - gave up 33 to chiefs(reasonable) 40 to browns(lol), 28 to titans in the playoffs
    4. Bears- 24 to raiders, 36 to saints.. pretty solid defense otherwise
    5. Vikings- 30 to lions, 37 to seahawks.

I count our defense as when we got Minkah, still no excuse to give up 28 to ravens backups. All great defenses have clunkers or breakdowns, even the 85 bears got killed by dolphins, 76 steelers by raiders, 2000 ravens allowed 36 vs the jags, etc.

TLDR: This defense is legit, no smokes and mirrors. IMO best defense in the league if not top 3. Ben is old, repeat 2008 and beat the cowboys on your way to your 3rd ring.

I am all for it if that is what it takes to get to the Stairway that leads to Seven. I believe it can happen.

All that remains is actually playing the games to find out. I sure hope nothing happens to Minkah though. That for me is my biggest concern.

Yes, beating the Girls would be most appreciated. If the Rats played the Girls, I'd pull for the Rats. I know that sounds stupid but that is just me and my level of hate I have got those POS s in TX.

Sure thing. I’d take a 8-8 season while getting blown out by the cowboys/ravens/bengals/eagles but we win it all Vs 16-0 and lose the super bowl lol

Honestly I can see the season being shortened or cancelled because of this. I do think we take the division back this year if the season happens.

    :herewego!:

    Yep!!!

Hopefully a Free Safety will be available soon! Justin Evans from Tampa Bay perhaps?! Granted, Tomlin nor Colbert were at Texas A&Ms Pro Day back in 2017. That said, Justin Evans is likely to get released now that the team has Antonie Winfield Jr.

Your boy edmunds needs a huge year. Scratch that, he just needs to be a role player and we will be good

Edmunds is picked on by offenses so I'm saying he gets a few picks this year.

Devin Bush will have a far superior season. Not even close. There was plenty of information of him becoming an impact player in the first half of 2019. Anything else beyond that was simply icing on the cake. While these circumstances are less than ideal, Devin Bush at the very least, now understands what it will take for him to shatter his limits to get to the next level; DPOY Candidate.

By comparison, Terrell regressed HORRIBLY in Year Two. What good is hitting triple digit tackles without any impact?! Where are the Forced Fumbles at?! No Fumble Recoveries either?! Unreal!! Keep in mind he is a Strong Safety; usually the eighth man in the box for run support.

It is bad enough he cannot be deployed, for whatever reason, in any Deep Coverage responsibilities. Add his inability to create impact in the Running Game. He is essentially an "Average Andy" being masked by a collection of "Bona-fide Brians".

My boy is Minkah Fitzpatrick now. In my opinion, he saved the 2019 Pittsburgh Steelers; something I had outlined during the entirety of last season. Without him, say hello to a Top 10 pick; Isaiah Simmons likely being the player.

Dime backer would be where he should be going. Issue is Marcus Allen has not shown enough that he can be called upon as the teams Strong Safety. If anything, I would rather have Marcus Allen be that hybrid player rather than calling upon Antonie Brooks Jr.

The less exposure a Rookie like Brooks Jr. has, the more they can learn for the long run.

Now they just need the offense to not suck, with Ben at QB they should be able to average over 20 points per game. With Mason/Duck last season getting 10 points was a struggle , imagine Ben having a defense that got 38 turnovers, that should lead to a lot of wins.

Bush will have a good year but calling him a DPOY candidate is a stretch. He's only going to barely edge out Aaron Donald for 4th in votes behind #3 Minkah, #2 TJ and the eventual DPOY Tuitt. Yep, Tuitt stays healthy all year and wrecks havoc on the league with 19 1/2 sacks, 13 FFs, 11 fumble recoveries, and an incredible 36 tackles for a loss.

Yeah, I'm under the influence of an illegal plant. How did you know?

The defense’s stats are even better if you go beyond the official published stats and use data to calculate unofficial metrics like points allowed per defensive snap or points allowed per defensive possession. The offense made things really, really hard on the defense and they still dominated until being completely worn down by Week 16, and especially Week 17.

He is due and if he can't do it this year, then can we classify him as a bust? Maybe he'll pull a Dupree.
