I'm happy with the pick. I might've gone with a different position but as a WR prospect, i'm excited.

I think teams have already run through the qb's that they want. Can we get Jake Fromm State farms in one of the later rds?

Maybe they'll get the kid to lose 10 or 15 lbs which will add more speed,,,like they did with Bell. Or keep the weight and use him more as a TE when McDonald gets injured 4 times. :dontknow:

I watched every game of ND and this kid was a one man receiving corps. Very similar to Mike Evans but could be better. I wanted a OL but this is better than another RB IMO. Great pick.

He was on my wish list...so I can't complain....I love Dobbins and hated to see him go to BAL....Steelers trust Conner more than I do at this point..or maybe its the faith in Snell.....

I want to see Claypool perfect that corner fade jump ball.

Where did you get that foolishness from? I have always said that Edmunds belonged in the third round or perhaps the second, not a six or a seven.

Implying that Alex Highsmith and whomever else Pittsburgh picks cannot make an impact?! Given how both Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm have fallen, Kevin Colbert did say that he would consider one if the pick itself is sensible. We are now effectively in Round 4. Would Colbert trade up for either?! We will soon see.

Pittsburgh had used Sub Packages on Defense nearly 70% of the time in 2019. Of that nearly 70% of sub package plays on defense, roughly 48% of them went to the Nickel Formation; 28% total for the 3-4. With the acquisition of Chris Wormley, expect the Steelers to play more Nickel and Dime Defense as opposed to the 3-4 unless needed.

K'von Wallace is still available. Would not surprise me if he goes at the early portions of Day 3. As for Linebacking depth.... you got me there! :lolol: No idea but as I said, I can imagine them using Terrell Edmunds mainly as the DIIME backer so it might not matter as much in the long run.

You are correct. I did have J.K. Dobbins going to Pittsburgh like many thought would happen. Here in lies the kicker. Given how the current paradigm that the NFL is playing out in addition to Big Ben's return, as much as I really want Big Ben to rely more on the Running Game with J.K., having another major asset to the Offense that will open up the playbook more is essential. For Pittsburgh's case, not having that "Thermonuclear Option" is part of the reason our Running Game struggled all season; Quarterback play and Offensive Lineman play included. Having one will open up so many other areas of the Offense. For example, Tyreek Hill's capabilities are well documented as he literally opens up that entire Kansas City Offense up.

We got our answer and as I thought, they like what they have in Conner and Snell. I still think they drafted Snell to be that guy and to take over for Conner after this year. Or this year if JC should get injured again.

Of course, they can still trade for Fournette but other than that, at this point in the draft, they like what they have and would only be drafting for depth if they take a back now. There’s no one left.

The guy that took half a team to take down, but somehow has 4.3 speed and he diggs blocking and hitting.

    Future fan fav!

Huge Steelers fan and huge Irish fan. Thought tonight was a good time to sign up.

Best thing I can tell you about Claypool is that he has a lot of Hines Ward in him. Takes pride in blocking and is a beast on special teams. I don’t feel like I need to talk him up much more than that. I’m comfortable that he’ll show everyone what he’s all about come the fall.

This town is gonna love him.

Big, physical, fast. In a passing-oriented league, you can never have too many options. He is going to be a tough matchup for small corners. Steelers know how to draft WRs, and aside from a few misses, I've pretty much stopped criticizing most of Colbert's picks. We're going to have to start outscoring the rest of the division, as the 3 other teams have lots of weapons now.

Steelers luv their 2nd round receivers. Dobbins is NOTHING to me now. Why does the Raisins have 2-3 picks every round?

That was also my first thought. “We drafted Les Claypool?”

Huge influence on my bass playing as well.

Seeing some JuJu isn't likely to be back after next year. I'm leaning more towards Washington is the odd man out, JuJu signs with the Steelers after his rebound year with Ben.

I watched most ND games this year and then broke down the Georgia, Virginia, Va Tech and Iowa State games (all on youtube).

It can be tough to evaluate because the Irish QB Ian Book is not very good. The Irish didn't really have a #2 WR either. Claypool saw alot of coverage and was still productive.

The biggest concern is separation. 1 on 1 routes on the outside I don't see consistent separation. The silver lining is that he usually won the jump ball battle.

you have good points there....but there was no ILB, S or TE that was there worth the value. OL yes, I can see that. And it doesn't automatically mean they are letting JuJu go, its just insurance and giving Ben another weapon.

I think JuJu superfans might want to get use to the fact that 2020 will be his last season in Pittsburgh.

When it comes down to JuJu vs Watt, it's not even close on who we are going to give the money to.

JuJu will leave and we will still have a strong WR corps.

I've never been to Vegas or Atlantic City, but damn if Omar Khan doesn't pull off some sheet...With the cap expected to rise significantly, I wouldn't put it past Khan to see that JuJu is extended. If it doesn't happen like you say, then I'm very glad they got Claypool this year.
