    Hey jeh1856.

This is the point I have been trying to make here. It seems that some folks are finally warming up to it. It simply is a "Mix" and "Match" thing that is dictated by what "Casey 2.0" does on 1st and possibly 2nd downs. Collapsing the pocket, like the original Casey did, would only take our defense up to another level. There is plenty of opportunity available for a Casey 2.0 prototype to exist in today's NFL. Some teams are currently instilling it and have been for years now. It is called "Situational Football" folks. Today's game has become more specialized in assignments than in the past with the "Sub-Packaging". And Yes, McCullers is near useless to fill this void. Why he is still on this team is beyond comprehension.

I do not know if he is available but I like Billings for the job. If not, because it is not as popular as it once was, we should be able to grab a decent NT in the 3rd or 4th round. Similar as to when we were the pre-dominant 3-4 team looking for tweeners to turn into OLBs. Then the cat was out of the bag and that in part is why we have had difficulty finding the other Bookend (Dupree) at that position.

The talent s Always out there and still goes unnoticed or has not developed completely, Even Today! There's a Kurt Warner, an Antonio Brown, or even a Tom Brady somewhere out there. The trick is not only being lucky enough to find him, but realizing what you have once you have him. They're right in picking from all available resources.

    Hey steelersrule6.

I did not realize that about Billings. You might want to Chill-Out with the . Honestly, I have not been keeping up with the Free Agency thing or any other Sports' news for that matter. I do not know about you, but I have way to many other important things going on in my life with all the chaos in the World. Sports right now just are not a priority. If you noticed, I have not been posting as much here over the past few months. Anyway, I think I do recall the Browns picking him up now that you mentioned it. Thank you for the Billings update.

The main thing that I have been watching, when I do have a minute for sports, are Steeler highlights on YouTube to keep my spirits up. The highlight reels that have me intrigued are those of Martavis Bryant. I am not sure what his situation is. If he is available, and suspensions are not hanging over his head, I would go after him for a 1-year contract with Veteran Minimum and some incentive clauses built in. The man has some serious skills and it seems that Ben and him had some nice chemistry on the field.

Unfortunately, Bryant could not keep himself on the straight and narrow and was the recipient of some bad advice from outsiders; specifically, his girlfriend from what I remember. You can put him in the "Underachiever Club" with Holmes, AB and Bell. What a waste of all four. At least we got a Super Bowl out of Holmes.

Any suggestions on any quality Free Agent NTs out there? You know me steelersrule6, I want that Casey 2.0 guy. Please do not tell me again that his snap count is not justified. You and I go back and forth with that point. If there are no FAs to fit my bill, we can probably get one in the middle rounds of the Draft. Any suggestions going that route?

You keep going on about the old days with a dominant NT like Hampton, move on those days are over, it's not happening in the Steelers current scheme. I think they will draft a NT in the mid-round, and he will only play about 35% of the snaps.

You and Steelwinds are delusional, thinking a Hampton type 3 down NT is in the Steelers near future.

Go back and read what I posted and see if you can figure out on your own what you missed. Maybe read slower?

    Hey steelersrule6

First and foremost I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. Second, you do not have to respond to my vision every time unless you really feel compelled too. Just as I will bet my bottom dollar that you will respond to this one. You made your point and I made mine. No sense in bickering, unless that is your thing. I read your responses and have always been courteous to you. The  from the last reply was really not necessary but hey I have thick skin. I am not into bickering here. Just trying to create good, quality and courteous dialogue. Always have, always will. Once again you made your point, I made mine. Lets just see how it plays out.

I think a true NT will take our already great Defense to another level. I have read your opinions and I respect them.

Third, other teams are still employing my NT vision as well. The run is coming back ever so slowly but is coming back. We need to improve in that area. My vision is about sub-packaging. Why would the Browns pick up Billings if they thought the run was dead? Look at what Tennessee did with their running game last season. Speaking of the Browns they have a good RB that we need to be ready for. How about the Giants? The Cardinals. There are other teams as well that are investing into quality RBs. We need to be prepared. Hargrave was a DE playing a NT position for us. He did a commendable job but was playing out of position.

In part, teams are becoming more run oriented BECAUSE the quality of QBs are going down in this league. You know schemes come full circle. The Passing League is not as dominant as it has been over the past decade.

Some of the best QBs have retired. The Mannings are gone. Luck is gone. And the following are on their way out: Ben, Brady, Brees and Rivers. What quality QBs are left? Mahomes, Wilson, and who else? Look at the teams around the league as a whole and then look at each one's QB situation. Most are second stringers that landed into starting jobs because the pickings are slim. This in part is why teams are starting to come back to the run. Once again, look at what Tennessee did last season; especially in the playoffs.

We are middle of the pack in regards to defending the run. We have to improve on the run. It is imperative. I have also read other posters here, but maybe more important, some of the Pittsburgh sports writers are seeing my point of view as well as stated in some of their articles: The PPG, The Tribune. Anyway you have a great night and we can continue this discussion if you REALLY would like too. Personally, I think you and I have driven it into the ground. I am interested in seeing what other folks around here have to say on the subject as well. Again, lets just see how the off-season unfolds with FA and the Draft. Take care.

Of course they are right to do that, but hidden gems like Warner, Brown and Brady are far tougher to find then they were in the '70s. I don't think the Steelers ever stopped looking for guys like that. It's just not easy to find them.

I just love how you always "know" everything the Steelers are going to do. Is your position in the Steelers organization in between Rooney and Colbert?.....or is it just in your head?

Oh I think there are a few here who fit that mold.

6's lack of social grace may be due to his age or a some other limiting factor.

Depends on which one of your personalities is asking?

    Is it the

    "Absoluetly!"

    "Absolutely not!"

    or the

    "Crickets"

You missed all the fun when Harrison signed with the Bengals and Steelersrule6 went on an Epic spree telling everyone and anyone that Harrison was done and the Steelers front office, the media and 30 other franchises agreed with him. Yep you read that right they agreed with him, not that their pov was similar or that he agreed with what the beat writers had stated, no they agreed with him and that was his proof.

Needless to say when the Bengals cut him and the Steelers called mid-season due to injuries we gave him plate after plate of crow to eat. To be fair though he took it like a champ and didn't dbl down on it. Every so often we have to bring it back up though.
