I doubt they use him at FB that much. I see him being in short yardage, pass blocking, TE more than being used as a FB

As long as they use him somewhere. Nix was making half that so he needs to play more than Nix I would hope.

How can you not like the Wattage?

But 10 mil for a Fullback in today's NFL? All, you know what? They're going to have him Back it and be "it" on Special Teams>
He's replacing Chick but can do more, and can actually be an offensive weapon too, Not bad. He's not a beast on ST, he gone.

    Not bad, I like.

Insane. Watt is younger than Rosie. Less tread. Less injury. Not going to speculate that he has as much nasty as Rosie does in the power run game because I reallt havent dug into Watt at all.

While most other teams opt out, we want to see MORE FB, and as NFL defenses get more hybridized we Steelers Nation will be correct.

I posted this in a previous thread but Dolphins and Texans were two teams ahead of us in the draft that really needed RBs. Now they have Jordan Howard and David Johnson respectively. Also teams dont value RB in the 1st like that anymore. We have seriously good odds to pull away with a Dobbins or Swift with our first pick.

Great, another distraction for this locker room. T.J. is going to be fighting Derek over his favorite type of Subway sandwich all the time now!

    :hmm:

People that are commenting that nearly $10 Million Plus for a Fullback is insane can thank Kyle Jusczyk for that; roughly 5.3 Million a year at that. Market value determines contracts people. Whatever the highest earning player has, players at that position of the highest earning want value either proportionate to or superior than that player. Derek Watt is just another classic example.

Getting back to what Derek Watt can do, just about anything, with little injury history to speak of. Add the fact that he was not used very much in Los Angeles and this was a smart deal overall. Considering that Rosie's best days are behind him, finding a younger option was key. In addition, this indirectly telegraphs where Pittsburgh will want to go early in the draft.

I understand that aspect. That is not what I am questioning.

Why would something like a Subway Endorsement tear apart the locker room?!
