Taylor ran a 4.39? Wow that is faster than Zeke Elliot or Saquon Barkley and he weighed in at 226. He just made himself a lot of money at the combine yesterday.

Biggest issue is still though touches. Nearly racking up 1000 is insane regardless of circumstances. The athleticism was never the issue for me but the durability is.

Keep in mind Running Backs have the shortest shelf life of any NFL Player; a little over two years at best on average. As such, they have to be the most athletic by default due to their job requirement. While I do not have doubts that Johntahn Taylor will succeed early on in the NFL, how long can he do it remains to be seen.

Barry Sanders did it for 10 years in the NFL and he was 5-8 200 pounds, he had over 300 carries for 7 of his 10 years and averaged 260 carries for the other 3 years, and in his senior season at QK state he rushed for 2644 yards 344 carries and 37 TDs, Taylor could be as durable as barry, he looks like the real deal and is certainly worth a rookie contract based on his resume.....

Sanders I don't believe ever took a strait on hit in all those years. Taylor's style is nothing like that. Sanders was a freak. What could have been. He was the best to ever play at that position if you asked me. If he played anywhere else with a good line he would have set the league on fire.

You are comparing a Hall of Famer to a soon to be rookie. There is little to no guarantee that Taylor will be a Hall of Famer. Again, I never said Johnathan Taylor cannot have success.

My issue again is how long can he hold up?!

Obviously Taylor is my guy. Badger RB through and through.

I think the 4.39 ensures he womt be there at #49.

I love Taylor but I still don't think he is on the Zeke/Saquon level. Heavily used in Wisconsin and does have a fumbling issue.

I think he goes in the 1st round though.

I'll say it again, I think RB is way down on the need list. I'm sure I'll have disagrees, but I hope they don't add one earlier than the 6th.

Kansas City loves speed, they would probably take him at the end of round 1.

It might not be their #1 need, but if Taylor was there it would be hard to pass on him, that's a franchise RB with big play ability. You would have Conner's replacement for 2021, and they could get rid of Samuels and his 2.7 YPC.

    I'm no fan of Samuels.....http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/threads/benny-snell-takes-the-2-spot-from-samuels.22327/

but is the value of drafting RB so great that it would trump their other needs? Especially at O-line, D-line and OLB depending on Bud?

Dobbins osu. Gibson memphis. Warren cincinnati. These would be 3 we should be looking at. The latter two a little more under the radar but quite productive.

RB should be added and I am thinking with their 4th pick. Conners cannot stay healthy

Snell in year two should make a jump. I think he will be more involved in the passing game now. We have 3 pretty good backs. Although Gibson from Memphis can play a different skill set in the passing game. He's got that ability to split out at any given time as they did with bell.

Colbert has given the nod of confidence to Conner, just like he did when he talked about Dupree before they gave him the 5th year option (and now with the franchise tag). Different player but I'm beginning to listen more closely to KC and what he says. Same with McDonald. I don't think its just media speak.

I'd be fine with them drafting a RB with their 6th or 7th, but also with the caveat that they get a guy with some break away speed. Kerryth White has that and is on the roster already. The team's last 3 picks at RB have been power guys and then everyone wants them to slim down and make the "glorious 2nd year jump". Heck LB26 was a power guy too, then did the slim down thing that started the whole trend.

Why don't they just draft some lineman so the current group of RBs that we have (all young guys) can run through the lanes the linemen create? I'm not giving up on Conner yet. We have way more pressing needs imo.

I think Taylor has a great skill set as a RB, but 18 fumbles in 3 years is cause for concern. Over the last 3 seasons Taylor has a fumble for every 51.4 rushes.... Dobbins one every 145 rushes. We've seen RB's in the past clean this issue up (Tiki Barber comes to mind). But it can't be ignored when evaluating him.

As I said two months ago, Akers is my man. Especially after the combine.

if they do draft a RB, I would like Darrynton Evans out of Appalachian State. 0 fumbles in his career I thought I read somewhere. 482 carries but not sure???

56 kickoff returns for a 25 yard avg so he can help out there too.

Gives the backfield that speed they are lacking and it won't cost them either of their top two picks. 4.41 in the 40, 37 vert, 125 broad at the combine.

He'd definitely a nice option. What are you thinking, 4th round?
