This isn't the 1980's when Bradshaw had elbow surgery, and was never the same. I expect Ben to play the next 2 seasons of his contract.

I think it is still to early to tell. I don't think anyone knows how much Zip he is going to have this year, let alone next year.

I hope Mason will give him a run for his money this offseason, to push him into playing a little more in Preseason to prove that he is back and deserves the starting position.

If he was 28... I'd agree, but he's 38. And Roethlisberger doesn't train in the off season like Brady and Brees.

With all the negative talks, I’m hoping he comes back with a chip on his shoulder. Although he may not be able to sling it, he should manage the game better than Duck and Rudolph. That alone is worth 3 additional wins

Bradshaw struggled early in his career, Ben isn't getting benched for Mason unless it's for injury.

Ben will give it most everything he has left. It might take 2-3 regular season games, but when he shakes the rust off he will be on sports center until his body fails him.

For all we know, he has a decent chance of being on sports center before the season starts. As an analyst moving on to his life’s work.

Are you saying this as in "you are only as good as your last outing"?

I will bet you one of my best beers against one of your best beers, that Ben is better than those last 6 quarters.:drinks:

    My O/U is 50.

You are as cynical about Ben as I am about Tomlin! But I am right:roflmao:

Without Ben, Tomlin's odds are < .500 to non-losing fame.

First, you are either misunderstanding my intent or twisting around what I stated to fit your narrative. Does this sound at all familiar?

Im actually hope Ben does well and I’m not suggesting he won’t. I’m just looking at the fact we don’t know about an old QB, recovering from surgery, who only survived 6 quarters last year with no obvious cause of injury or overuse. I hope your optimism is correct.

As for the bet, you are asking for a suckers bet and I won’t do that. Every spring I quit buying new beer. I force myself to drink the leftover stuff I have. The 4th of 4 in a variety pack. The stuff people graciously brought from home to my holiday parties because they didn’t like it. Etc. You don’t want what I have left. I don’t want have what I have left but for the most part I won’t waste it. The good news is in about a week I can start fresh. Check back then.

" For all we know" says all I need to see to know you don't know anything. No one does. For all we know you could be a (fill in the blank). See how easy and dumb this can get. So unless you are part of Ben's medical team or participated in either his surgery or rehab, what really do you actually know?

Please go back and read my post slower. You seem to be ranting exactly what I posted.

Well what do we all really know at this point. First, his surgery was successful. Second, his rehab is on schedule going straight to throwing a football instead of a smaller ball of some kind. Third, we saw what the GM said about Ben's arm maybe being better than before. Fourth, Ben has said he fully intends to play out his contract. Fifth, the organization has stated that they are going with the QB's that are already signed to be the players for next season. Compare these items to your statement of Ben having a good chance of never playing in the NFL again. See what I mean? Now, if you have something that supports what you said, please advise as I haven't seen anything. I am trying to be positive on Ben's return since that will determine what we do next season.

Mason with Ben's playbook or Mason with an offense and QB coach working him in a system he understands and flourished in?

I don't bet/or buy on sight unseen. I will have to see him first then will make a wager.
