Denzel Mims ran a 4.37 huh?! Kick him off Pittsburghs wish list then. Might have to target Chase Claypool then. A 4.45 on a 6'4 frame is nothing to scoff at for certain.

Still, Pittsburgh needs a sub 4.4 player. Denzel Mims was my final contingency plan. Yesterday's performance put him into Round One consideration.

So far I've been clamoring for an offensive lineman (or possibly defensive lineman) with our 2nd round pick, but I wouldn't mind one bit if they got Claypool with that pick.

238 lbs and runs a 4.42, good luck to any DB trying to bring this runaway horse down in the open field.

A new weapon out of the backfield would help Ben the most imo. We get a Bell type RB then no need for Switzer.

No need for Switzer anyway. I wouldn’t be opposed to a RB in the 3rd or 4th. What happens with Dupree will have a big effect on our draft IMO. I usually have a feel about now in what direction they may go with some of their picks but this year is difficult. Akers had a nice showing and he’s already on our radar. Question is how long will he be available.

Although admittedly I’m a little disappointed in Reagors 40 time his other explosion numbers were fantastic. I believe a 42” vert and a 11.5 broad. I think he got bad advice on adding weight and I expect a better showing at his Pro Day. The speed on the field don’t lie. Ignore him running behind your Safeties at your own peril. What I especially like about Reagor is he can return kicks and punts and he gives us a dangerous motion and jet sweep option. I expect Canada to add quite a bit of that to this stagnant offensive philosophy.

I was trying to view it as if I was in Ben's shoes. I think he liked dumping off to Bell & the stats it produced. He wants Switzer to be his short yardage security blanket. What I failed to remember is that Ben likes to go deep.
Also I think that wr is the least of our concerns entering this draft class. On the flip side, I wasn't too enthralled about the JuJu pick when they took him & guess i haven't learned anything yet.

Another possible 2nd round WR who may fall to us- Laviska Shenault. Has some injury history, didn't impress at the combine, needs to have "core surgery" (whatever that is) and may miss his Pro Day. But he was in the first round mix, and definately top 40.

They need some speed at WR, Shenault ran a 4.59 there will be other WRs available in the second round.

Well, the fact that he needs surgery may have slowed him down. Just sayin.

We have holten and had DHB. Neither have worked out well. Cain can run, so maybe ike can work with him. Finding a guy that has the straight line speed with the wiggle quickness is what to look for. A guy that can twist up a DB and then out run him is the ideal wr..

We need a WR who can best replace the skill set we lost with AB. We have enough guys with speed/ size combo that can be effective down the field. We just have to find the mismatch and be able to make the connection. Reagor is still a guy I’m interested in and maybe his “slow” 4.47 pushes him down to us. He’s not just a deep threat either. I’m sure he can play slot as well. Jet sweeps, bubble screens also adds KR and PR to the mix.

What Steve Smith likes about Reagor is that he is a no nonsense bring your lunch bucket type of guy. He takes his job seriously and you don't have to worry about bad character or diva issues.

I have watched Juju, DJ and JW get open deep and not just one time. I like what you are saying but I also like the group we have and the way they can mix in position. I hope Ben stays healthy and we see a lot of these guys stretching the field.

And he probably won't be able to run at his pro day either, there are other good fast WRs available.

Exactly. We don't need the ones that can just run fast straight down the field. Fast and quick feet with good hands. A guy that can make space. DJ with sub 4.5 speed would be ideal.

I do like proche. Not sure his speed, but plays fast enough.

I read on PFF where Denzel Mims had 24 drops over his 3 seasons. That's a lot....
