We’ll see . He looked as good if not better in than any of them in the drills as well. Not so great on the sled but that is Russian to most of them.....

Saw that story and started to get jacked. I'm sorry, spending 16.5 on the one year wonder would not help get this team multiple players to help and would just lose several players. All for Dupree? Releases, restructure to keep him? And so tight against the cap. Oh, and Cam Heyward is up for an extension and deserves it. Colbert saying he would like to see Dupree retire as a Steeler? He must be taking some fine acid.

So I guess every pick we get has a 5 year plan to blossom. Joke.

I really didn't think they'd show that much interest in CBs. Hope they talk to some Safeties.

I read that they are ready to let Hilton go to keep Bud or Digger so this makes sense.

    NFL Combine winners & losers

Friday, Feb. 28: Running backs, offensive linemen and specialists

    Winner: Jonathan Taylor

Taylor was a prolific running back in college, rushing for 6,174 yards and 42 touchdowns for Wisconsin. He increased his stock with a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash and backed that up with a 36-inch vertical jump. Taylor’s performance was the talk of the running back workouts. He could be the first running back drafted as a result.

    Loser: Zack Moss

Moss ran a 4.65 in the 40-yard dash, a time he will have to improve on at his pro day. Moss did hit 19 on the bench press. The 40 isn't everything, but that time might have dropped the Utah standout to the Round 4 range.

    Winner: Cam Akers

Akers was a five-star running back who had two 1,000-yard seasons at Florida State, and that talent might be better realized at the next level. He ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash, a great time for a 217-pound back. He also finished with a 20 in the bench press.

Jonathan Taylor would look good in a Steelers uniform, unfortunately he probably won't be there at #49, he's the type of guy who could replace Conner in 2021.

I mentioned corner. Hilton, burns, and sutton in his last year. All we have is layne.

Taylor would be nice but he's got a lot of mileage on him.

Not sure if this is a good spot for this but I didn't want to start another thread. Good stuff here, looks like Taylor might have put himself out of our range which I feel is good. The reasoning is the position is deep and I feel we have bigger needs at 49. One guy they mentioned in this who I have been looking at id AJ Dillon. Maybe 3rd/ 4th round kinda guy with big upside and could slide right in as the starter in 2021.

As for lineman a name I keep seeing popping up with us is Shane Lemiuex. I don't know much about him except he was on sirius radio with Pat and Jim the other day and he was good to listen to. The LSU duo Cushenberry and Lewis both got hurt so the good thing there is they didn't do a whole lot to push out of our range like Taylor did.

    Thoughts????

Steelers paying a lot of attention to RBs at the NFL Scouting Combine

    Curt Popejoy

One position of need for the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the 2020 NFL draft is running back. On the surface it might not seem so but after two seasons cut short by injury for James Conner and pending free agency in 2021, it certainly feels like the Steelers are preparing for an eventual exit by Conner.

Here are the running backs the Steelers have met with that we know of so far.

    Cam Akers, Florida State

    Zach Moss, Utah

    Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin

    AJ Dillion, Boston College

    Clyde Edward-Helaire, LSU

This is the first I"m hearing that about Hilton. This would be a travesty imo. Hilton is a very good slot CB and those are tough to find.

I like Lemieux, I think I had him in the second in an earlier mock for us. Ruiz, Hennessy and Lemieux are guys I'd like targeted on the interior.

Honestly, I think Sutton is a better pass defender. Hilton plays great around the line of scrimmage, but I think he’s average in coverage.

I’m a BC fan and have watched AJ Dillon since the start - he’s Derrick Henry. Don’t know why I see so many Conner comparisons. Dillon is bigger and faster, but not so much a better receiver. Mileage is a concern. You can coach his hands, I think there’s receiving upside.

If I had to make an on-point pro comparison: He’s a thicker legged and shorter Derrick Henry

    I wouldn't let hilton go.

    3 seasons with the team.
    only missed one game.
    25 passes defended. 1. 6pd. 2. 8pd. 3. 11 pd.
4 interceptions. 2 forced fumbles. 3 fumble recoveries.
6.5 sacks. 18 qb hits. 22 tackles for loss.
    186 tackles.

That is a pretty good resume. He also showed pretty well at free safety in the preseason last year if minka were to miss a game. I do like sutton as well but I'd keep both if at all possible.

Curious if you’re a BC fan how does he compare to Andre Williams I think his name was? He didn’t pan out....
