Apparently, since the NFL decided to go “prime time” with the combine, the number of meetings per team has been reduced from 60 to 45.

Florida running back Cam Akers has met informally with the Steelers and said he has a formal interview set up with them here at the NFL Combine.

LSU center Lloyd Cushenberry said he has patterned his game after the Pouncey brothers. He had an informal meeting with the Steelers.

I am still shocked we didn't meet with anyone at the shrine game or senior bowl. Early look so far has us concentrating on offense.

First guys in too. They have probably seen a good bit of mckivitz playing at wvu. I have watched him play since hs. He's more guard then tackle. Looks like interior guys so far. Center with guard capabilities and tackle with guard capabilities. Covers foster and Finney spots pretty good if....

I saw somewhere that we met with the Princeton Qi at the Shrine Game. And as much as I like Walter for kicks and giggles, every year he'll have ten people that the Steelers met with at the Combine, when you know damn well we met with 60 (or 45 this year). The Steelers are pretty tight lipped about who they interview, and pretty much only players who post a meeting on instagram or whatever are listed.

(Originally had Dartmouth Qb. Edited because i’m A dumbarse)

I am not sure how it all works I am sure it is more than just social media. I just found this:

On a side note, the only other interview/meeting reported was at the Shrine Bowl and that was with Princeton quarterback Kevin Davidson.

That was from an article in BTSC but my question is who reports it and how does it work. Yes the Steelers always have been very tight lipped about meeting with prospects. You are right Walterfootball is fun but not very accurate.

6’. 220. Don’t see him playing lb. He’d have to show some good speed at the combine to see him taking that safety/linebacker role. That being said, as a late rounder wouldn’t bother me.

I see him being wanted in the Mark Barron role, just on a contract that is for 4 years and less than $1mil. I also think that this is only if he falls to round 6. If they want him with that latter 4th, wouldn’t surprise me either.

As a sophomore he was an OLB that had 18.5 TFLs and 8 sacks. A LB that can blitz and tackle and cover at the college level and was productive albeit small AND great on special teams sounds like something Tomlin would look to in a Barron cap casualty.

    How so?! I disagree.

Speed does kill but skill even more so. Cole Kmet has superior consistency and a more rounded skillset. Same goes with Brycen Hopkins. A 4.6 40 for a Tight End is still a very good score.

Albert still has one massive issue; consistency. That has to be corrected. Otherwise, no matter how athletically gifted he is, he will not last long in the league.

In short?! Give me Hopkins over Albert Okwuegbunam any day. More polished a blocker and more ready to be inserted into the lineup.
