That is a very interesting question. If he plays 2 more seasons Ben should have 40 or more TD's left. That would be 20 a year which isn't really that good.

30 yrs ago you’d be spot on.....

We have the pieces on offense..... If Ben, Connor and McDonald can get and stay healthy, JuJu returns to his old self, DJ & Washington & Snell continue to Grow and Fitchner puts together a consistently better gamePlan we should have a legit Offense!!!!

    ok, a lot of ifs

I asked the question without looking anything up. But decide to query Profootball-reference to see what's happened in the past. Assuming Ben has only 2 more year, what's the most TDs a QB has thrown in 2 yrs at his age?

Most Total TD passes by a QB at ages 38 and 39

    Brady. 64
    Brees 55
    Moon 51
    Favre 50
    Peyton 48
    Blanda 37
    Warner 26 (one season)
    Tarkenton 25 (one season)
    Flutie 23
    Rivers 23 (one season)
    Elway 22. (One season)
    Craig Morton 21

Only a few averaged 20 TDs/yr for 2 yrsat Bens age. And while some had injuries, none I believe had throwing arm injuries. Maybe my O/u of 25 TDs forBen is a little too low. But 40 I think is optimistic.

    I'll go with 49, right between Farve & Peyton. Ben's a warrior.

Yes, but the video doesn't show where the ball came down. Only after we see his balls intercepted will we really know he's back.

On a serious note, I didn't think Ben would be back so this is great news. An old but healthy Ben makes me more confident than a young Rudolph.

I saw the video. It’s a soft toss, but it’s a start. He looks a little pudgy, but not any worse than I had seen him look in pictures from other offseasons. The beard though... damn that’s shaggy.

Pretty good beard overall I would say.

Overall and, getting back to the point, you are right. Soft throw but still progress given all that has happened. Hopefully he can recover quickly.

Ben has always been a little pudgy, he has 5 months to get in better shape before training camp.

I wonder what most of us would look like if we had surgery followed by five months off?

And that's actually a damn nice beard, I guess we just don't like it on our QB, Keisel would be proud.

The Steelers put out an update showing Ben lobbing one pass. And we thought they were going to be tight lipped.

I wonder if the "only throw tennis balls" was Ben's dramatic idea so he could ride back into his comeback on his white horse looking like the 2nd coming of Christ throwing a football.

I'm not sure if I understand your "wonder." As I understand it, the tennis balls were a basic stage of recovery that came before throwing a football. The fact that he didn't have to spend time with tennis balls seemed a simple indication that the surgery and his healing to this point were ahead of schedule. All that has transpired is him being cleared to stress his elbow and shoulder with the weight and rotation of a football. I really don't see him spinning the narrative of his "comeback."

EDIT: I flubbed up and said "golf" balls originally. Don't know why or where "golf" balls came from. Changed that above to keep me from looking back and facepalming.
