Nothing is guaranteed but it looks very good for a 3rd. We lost James(6.25) and Bell(13.1) and gained nelson(8.5) This is all according to OTC and they have a lengthy explaination if you would like to read it. The formula is not publicly known but here is their explanation.

I got dizzy..I will trust your assessment lol. With so little draft picks, it is imperative they hit on this and their 4th rounders. Not even looking for instant starters, but depth and the kind of guys who can give you 4 plus solid years.

2020 NFL Scouting Combine: One player for each team to watch

    By Charley Casserly

PITTSBURGH STEELERS: K.J. Hamler, WR, Penn State. The Steelers need a speed receiver to alleviate some of the attention on JuJu Smith-Schuster. Hamler is the guy, as a dynamic speedster who could excel in the slot. He's expected to register a sub-4.4 40-yard dash in Indy, which could boost his stock.

I guess I see things different I don't see OT or WR as a need but I do see safety, DT and OLB as needs. I feel we have Okorafor and Gray from last year and if these guys can't step up into back up roles then maybe OT becomes a need. As for WR I am one that feel we are set here, we had guys in JW, Juju and DJ that can play the slot and also go deep. Adding another weapon can't hurt but I feel is a luxury rather than a need.

I agree about options and I have said before there is tons of talent in rounds 2-4, imo.

I feel the Steelers go oline or te with their 2nd rounder. Offense needs to be upgraded compared to the defense. We are relatively young at the other positions, contract & age wise. Maybe a dlineman.

Bradlee Anae from Utah looks the part and plays the side we need as an OLB to take Duprees spot. Actually plays very similar to bud. size and how he plays the rush and run. He would and should be the target and use the savings from the tag for finney and hilton and feiler.

Anae put himself into the top 3 rounds imo with his senior bowl performance.

Anxious to see Anae test. Uche should test very well. I wouldn’t be opposed to the more athletic of the 2 with our first pick.....depending on Dupree of course. Uche offers a lot more in coverage than all those guys I believe. So that gives him the edge in versatility there when needed.....

I am not anxious to see Anae test at all.

He has a quality first step with some good twitch to him as well. I am looking forward to his testing in all honesty. Granted, not as much as Brycen Hopkins but intrigued nonetheless.

I am one of the few that don't give 2 $hits about the combine. What I mean by that is the numbers are interesting and there are a few things I like but for the most IMO I am not interested. I will not make a decision on a prospect based on his hand size, 40 time, how much he can bench etc etc etc......... I know some here will try to go back at me about this but oh well not interested in the underwear Olympics.

Absolute but my point in my prior post was how far down the board he was before the senior bowl.......there is always movement after these bowl games, combine and pro days.

I had seen him around 56- 65. Hopefully he jumps to 49 come draft day.:smiley1: So much comes into play with this slotting. How many teams need a 3-4 OLB at that time and how many have been chosen and how many like him over another or another position.

Yes guys will jump all over the place in the next few weeks for sure. I am seeing him a lot in the 80's right now one site I looked at had him at 46 and that was post senior bowl. I feel the 3-4 olb draft class is much like the TE class. Many didn't like it but the more you look at it the more you see good players. We have no shot at Young, Matos, Epenesa etc but guys like Anae, Willekes, Unche, Greenard, Highsmith, Robinson and Dana have all made some noise as good later round picks.

Ugh... sorry to inform all of you this but the Pre Combine Top 32 and Positional Rankings for this section of the thread will not be happening. Experienced a shortcoming in the new hardware.

Will update this post as soon as possible.

The 40 time is very important for players in the secondary and the receivers, also for some ILBs, the Steelers probably wouldn't trade up for Bush last year if he ran a 4.8 forty.

I go through this every year with some of you guys, please tell me just what the 40 time proves? I mean how many players run a straight 40 yards, you want to tell me their splits on the 40 fine I am more concerned with what they run 10 yds at. The 3 cone is a great drill and has nice meaning however I am not drafting a guy on his 3 cone numbers. Give me game film that tell me a whole lot more than the underwear Olympics.

For the big guys their 10 yard split is more important than the forty, speed is important still look at Deion Sanders and Darrell Green they had that great recovery speed.
