I have gone on record as saying Mahomes will come to earth a little bit and have taken some fire for it so I did a little math to see where he would end up if he keeps on his current pace.

I used Tom Brady's number of attempts in the regular season and in the playoffs and then applied them to Mahomes and Ben to see where they would end up in two categories TD's and yardage.

So if Mahomes and Ben were to have 9988 regular season attempts and 1626 playoff attempts like Brady has, here are the numbers that would extrapolate.

Brady (regular season attempts 9988) 541 TD' s 74541 yards
Ben (with same # of attempts) 501 TD's 78115 yards
Mahomes (with same # of attempts) 690 TD's 85538 yards

    Brady (playoffs attempts 1626) 73 TD's 11388 yards
Ben (with same # of attempts) 72 TD's 12642 yards
Mahomes (with same # of attempts) 114 TD's 13025 yards

Mahomes will be figured out soon enough. His arm talent is unquestionable. Best in the league and that is not even an opinion but a fact.

The shortcomings shall arrive with the likes of Mahomes himself. Keep in mind that the CBA expires very soon. How much will Mahomes command?! That will be the key.

Think about Aaron Rodgers, unquestionably one of the top QBs playing.
It makes a difference if you were to look at him after 2011 (14-1 record, 45 TDs, 9.2 y/a, 122.5 rating) compared to a year like 2015 (10-6 record, 31 TDs, 6.7 y/a, 92.7 rating).

Mahomes didn't play as well in 2019 (26 TDs) compared to 2018 (50 TDs).
If we extrapolate a straight line from those two seasons, next year Mahomes will play in 12 games, pass for less than 3000 yards, with 2 TDs and -2 INTs.

Must be the Homer in me but, when I saw the title of this thread, I automatically thought you were going to compare Mahomes to Terry Bradshaw...….

I figured mentioning a negative number of INTs would make it obvious that the projection can't be taken seriously, but it seems like for you I have to say it directly.

Mahomes may be better than Bradshaw & Ben. He has a good start to prove it.

Mahomes is in a Tom Brady situation. He has the best coach to get the most out of his skill set. Reid has always been good with QBs, even those that weren't very good like Alex Smith and McNabb. The reason his teams would choke in big games was his defense, if he faced a team with a defense good enough to force a few stops and a FG or two he would get beat. His teams are typically good offensively but questionable on defense.

Another thing that benefits Mahomes is the receiving core he has. Wait until they try to resign Hill and Kelce knowing they will need a fortune to keep Mahomes. Losing Hill would hurt worse than Kelce as a lot of open receivers are there due to teams respecting Hill's speed. It truly is a team sport, ask Rodgers.

Or ask the Ravens about Flacco.
They paid for his hot playoff streak, but had to cut the receivers who made Flacco look so good (by drawing PI penalties and winning jump balls).

    I know...lol
The guy took A. Reid off the can't win the big one list. Came from behind, using everyone, not just overrated speed demons.
Kid is the next poster boy for the NFL. Maybe thats it.

The question remains: Is there a discernible break in the linkage pre and post 12 midnight? Is that the determinant?

I offer however, when is the last time you heard someone (e.g. George Carlin) say that they had to take "some" sh*t" vs the conventional "a" sh*t which implies that until you rise to exit the head, it's still the same episode. But as Carlin also reminds us, why do you "take it", shouldn't you be "leaving it"? :hmm:

Mahomes coming down to earth? Keep dreaming. Mahomes would be sitting on back to back titles right now if not for Dee Ford.

Mahomes will win 3 or 4 titles before he's done. At least.

Unless KC can circumvent the cap, The Chiefs will never be
able to field a team around him because his salary cap figure
will be just to high to keep quality people around him. He has the best arm
I have seen since Terry Bradshaw. I have watched a lot of football.

Both Mahomes and Ben lost to the pats in the AFC title game in there first year starting and both won the super Bowl there second year.. So so far his career looks a lot like Ben's

The kid is a stud and will win multiple championships. Possibly a back to back is coming. Amazing player.

The two mentioned are the old guard at this time. The end is near.

Mahomes will go down as probably the best ever. I know it sounds like I’m jumping the gun but that dude is a monster. If he can stay healthy sky’s the limit. He’s fun as hell to watch. This coming from a guy who can’t stand kc

Under the tutelage of Randy Finchtner he'd have found a way to make Mahommes suck.
