So if you don't care why do you keep commenting......I mean why waste your time? The Steelers defense creating turnovers was the nice minute story. Duck was fortunate to be the QB at the time.

Is this necessary on a Steelers board? Our outlet to ***** about smaller problems that we let ruin our lives. How you react speaks volumes on your test of character. What exactly is your angle for joining the board?

Why is dbs Tomlin's specialty? He has coached another position that we have drafted well. Give him credit for that by those blinded with contempt? :roflmao:

Tomlin was also a defensive coordinator, can he get a attaboy for the job they did this year before the yearly facepalm? :roflmao:

Popcorns specialty is player management. He needs improvement in that area also...

I’m not so sure he has a specialty but a educated guess and his history would tell me it’s DBs, you know because he coached them for 5 years in the NFL. What other position did he coach in the NFL that we drafted well? Not blinded by contempt. I’m actually bringing facts to this discussion that I was having with @STEELWINDS@STEELWINDS before rabbit ears jumped in and started bringing unnecessary info into the discussion. I’ve explained my stance on MT. I’m not blaming him for anything but what should be under his control. Ok I can give him a attaboy for the improvement on D this year just as well as the blame for all the disappointing ones. At the same time though when he was getting blame the past few seasons, wasn’t there someone saying that he wasn’t holding a play sheet ,so he wasn’t calling plays? So which one is it?

    Hey thesteeldeal.

It was along the same lines of your discussion with Roonatic. Who by the way, I have had some good chats with for the record. I posted a very, very long "factual" response that documented all of Tomlin's coaching experiences from the College ranks to the Pros. I went back into the "Your Content" link here on the Board to see if I could dig it up. Unfortunately, it was no longer there. I guess each member has but so much space to save these things. No knock on the Message Board Administration. The "Your Content" space for each poster seems to max out at about the last 196 posts or 10 pages; which is a lot actually. So, kudos to TTF and crew for that.

Several months ago I was debating this with another poster who was living in the "emotional world" as we discussed vs. the "factual world". Anyway, the poster, who I will remain nameless, never got back to me. It figures though. Once you put up real hard data/facts to back-up your position. It was a shame because I put a lot of work into that post. Not to say: "see I told you so" but just to justify my stance.

Given that, from what I recall, The majority of Tomlin's coaching experiences are on the Defensive side of the ball. He actually did a brief coaching stint with WRs as well. If I recollect there was/were experience(s) that dealt specifically with Secondary coaching. Overall, the majority of his coaching body of work was on the "D" with a focus on the Secondary. If I have time I can try to dig some of that up again.

    Hey thesteeldeal.

I apologize to whomever it may apply to when you stated "rabbit ears". I am not sure if it was Roonatic or steelersrune6. Whomever, once again I apologize if I got it mixed up.

Hey STEElWINDS...I think you’re selling TTFs message board wizardry short. I’m pretty sure you can go back a lot further than that. There’s also a search function where you can use keywords. Honestly it’s probably not worth your time or effort because the people you are trying to reach will just be dismissive to the facts anyway.

If being a DB coach was his specialty, then he would coach the DBs himself duh .

I have for sure mentioned Stan Humphries. It was a terrible terrible loss. So was losing to the Patriots the 1st time in the AFCCG, but if the Patriots were cheating? Then...

Anyways, I've always mentioned that being a terrible loss, but again at least Cowher made up for it in 2005 ripping 3 road wins in a row. That was history-making.

Tomlin however is going downhill after his Super Bowl win. He hasn't done anything history making would you say? I mean, this season if he pulls out a 10-6 record, gets to the playoffs, and wins a road game, I'll give him immense credit as a coach. Getting to 8-5 at the time looked great, but to lose 3 games in a row. Where's the fight? Travis Kelce just said that the Chiefs are playing so hard to get Andy Reid the SB. Tomlin can't his players up for the Jets during a possible playoff shot? Mike Vrabel took the Titans to 2 tough venues and won. That's very impressive. That stuff is COTY material, not going 8-5 and then losing 3 straight games. It's deja vu from 2 years ago when the Steelers were what? 7-2-1? Finished 2-4. I mean losing to the Raiders, yikes. That's ugly stuff. That doesn't inspire confidence in me as a fan. So the losses to Tebow and Bortles are showing cracks in Tomlin's abilities. I mean a Super Bowl winning coach can't find a way to beat those guys? He is a SUPER BOWL winning coach that everyone lauds and praises, but can't find a way to beat Tebow and Bortles in the playoffs? Who you waiting to play? I mean guys worse than them?

Anyways, I've said if Tomlin coaches the Steelers to another Super Bowl, I'll give him full credit and say that I was completely wrong. I didn't expect it to happen, but I'm glad it did and I'll come on the board and say that I was completely wrong and you were right.

My point is it is ridiculous for someone to be righteous about racism when that person in fact has NO clue what racism is. Lol That's why racism runs rampant, because no one can talk about it and everyone 'thinks' they know what it is. Until you have had your life threatened, don't say anything about it. The fact is you just don't know anything. Now if you have a story where you can identify with me, then go ahead. Other than that, I added humor, which is allowed. If you're bent out of shape, maybe you're a racist yourself, I don't know. You know, I have kids that run around me that yell "Build that wall, build that wall", while their parents laugh. I have people saying "Go back to Bhopal" to me when I was growing up. I've had people say to me "Arabs should be killed". Ironically, I'm not Arab, or from Bhopal, and don't know of any walls that I've breached. So, what exactly is your point? What did you add to the conversation?

He is better at that than db coach...lol

I can't figure out why he struggles to scout & develop competent dbs myself. Is it the system or the player? Leaning toward the system because even Popcorn could find a nut from sheer luck.
The apologists could argue that by picking late every year that all the talented ones are gone by then. A little truth to it but damn, he swung & missed on just about every db drafted under his tenure.

    Hey thesteeldeal.

I love the infrastructure of this message board. TTF and crew have done an amazing job with this site. This coming from a computer teacher. I already told him that a while ago. Yes, there are probably features on here that I have not even tapped into. Like the search function which I have not been able to find. I feel embarrassed admitting that being a computer teacher. Can you tell me where it is? It is probably right in front of my face. Take care.

The team was handicapped by bad QB play in those last 3 games, they scored 10 points in the last 3 games. You seem to forget the 2008 team beating their hated rival Baltimore 3 times that season, including in the AFCCG.
