Scott left Behindthesteelcurtain and is now writing for Steelers Depot. I'm happy for him also, I always looked forward to his Steelers Draft Board and subsequent updates...

I've been following Scott for years, please remember I only joined this board recently so I haven't been able to truly appreciate the beauty and insightfulness of your work yet :smiley1:

Just kidding my man!! Make no mistake about it. DropTheHammer was one of my big inspirations growing up while learning about how the NFL Draft Works. Couple of other people as well.

Keep in mind that, before I came on this board, I used to hand write my Big Boards. I drew inspiration from people like DropTheHammer, Justis Mosqueda and Gil Brandt to name a few.

I do like Matt Miller but only to an extent; in recent years especially. I do believe he creates his boards with good intentions; his specifics most notably such as "Best Arm for a QB", "Best Speed for a WR", etc. The issue that I have with him is, like other major media outlets, I believe he can get too carried away with some people; Greedy Williams being one of them.

    By SHANE P. HALLAM

    Second Round bonus)

    49. Pittsburgh – Josh Jones OL/Houston

Jones may not be around at Pick #49, but he can play LT, RT or kick inside to guard. An excellent pass blocker, Jones gave up only 4 pressures this year for Houston. After an outstanding athletic performance at the Combine, Jones is squarely in Round 2 and has plenty of experience.

That would be awesome! No way he makes it to us in the 2nd imo though. Tackles go quick.

Josh Jones would be a dream pick like Turtle stated. He is essentially now become a first round pick. The question now becomes how high does he go?!

It honestly would not shock me if he is in the top 20 range by the time the Draft rolls around.

Jacob Eason would be the nightmare scneario. Not so much him because he does possess franchise QB potential but another reason. That reason being Big Ben's elbow being messed up beyond belief.

Hopefully it will not come to that. Art Rooney II did say the recovery was going positive though. Next couple of weeks will be interesting.

Steelers 2020 mock draft: Post-Senior Bowl update

    Curt Popejoy
    January 27, 2020

2nd round: IOL Lloyd Cushenberry III, LSU
Cushenberry impressed at the Senior Bowl with his ability to play well at both center and guard.

3rd round: EDGE Anfernee Jennings, Alabama
Jennings has tons of untapped potential and athleticism. He just needs proper coaching at the NFL level.

4th round: TE Harrison Bryant, Florida Atlantic
Bryant is another player who impressed at the Senior Bowl and could be a bargain in the middle rounds.

4th round: DT Davon Hamilton, Ohio State
Hamilton is a huge, gap-filling defensive tackle who would give the Steelers more strength in the middle of the defense.

6th round: RB Joshua Kelly, UCLA
Kelly is a powerful runner with a low center of gravity who can power for extra yards.

7th round: S Myles Dorn, North Carolina
Safety depth is a need for the Steelers and Dorn is a downhill player and big hitter.

Yeah? I don’t know. I wouldn’t mind a WR but we need the TE more...imo. I guess it depends on who would be available with a comp pick.

TE Bryant was the pick in the 4th on that mock. But I would go WR over edge in rnd 3. But that all depends on what happens with Bud.

You’re right. My bad. I’m torn on Jennings. 2 years ago I thought he was going to be a can’t miss in the league and thought there was no way we would ever have had a chance at him. He’s disappointed the last couple years. I know one year was recovering from a late season injury the year before but last year he didn’t shine, but Bama’s entire defense wasn’t what it’s been either. I disagree about needing coaching in his write up. Saban c’mon? He may have stagnated a bit staying at Bama, same with Raekwon Davis. I think he’s still got big time upside and wouldn’t be mad with him in the 3rd. He was destined to be a 1st round pick so the talent is there. Maybe he just needed to move on.

If Bud stays and Chick goes, I'd be OK not drafting an OLB and sticking with those 4. Dupree, Watt, Ola, Skipper and maybe they bring back Sutton Smith and he gets a full preseason to see if he has anything to offer.
