Neither Troy nor Alan has made it in yet, Pretty sure it’s a foregone conclusion Troy makes it!!! I believe Alan should already be in, consummate professional All-pro and Probowler multi years at LG and one year LT ..... but it could go either way with him unfortunately..

I never understood this one. The only reason could be all the other Steelers of the 70s who were enshrined. In 79 he had 5 int's which was his most in the superbowl years. His best years playing were 80 to 85. And when he retired i believe he was the all time leader in interceptions. And who could forget the Earl Campbell hit... Definately a Hall of Fame player

I think they are just trying to give everybody their shine. Troy is going to make it. I think they know once Troy is announced it's going to be like 95% Steelers fans there so trying to get in some of the Steelers snubs at the same time.

Still to be decided, but I think it's pretty much a lock that he gets in.

Way overdue for Shell.... Well deserved.

So far they have just picked for coaches and the old time veterans. They haven't selected yet from the more recent retirees like Troy.

Those selections have yet to be announced. These selections are the special 100 year anniversary selections.

I saw Donnie's interview on Good morning football today. He wasn't drafted after 17 rounds and only the Steelers and Broncos offered him a tryout as a free agent. He wanted to sign with the Broncos but his college coach Willie Jeffries told him to sign with the Steelers.
He told Shell that Pittsburgh is a hard working, blue collar, hard hat town and that he would fit in better there than Denver.
Shell is the 10th player from the 70's football team to be in the HOF, and incredibly the 5th from the 1974 Steelers rookie class.

Art Rooney II States: He expects the Steelers to play in the 2020 HOF game!!! It would be fitting since the Steelers will be well represented with potentially 4 Steelers going in. Steelers & Cowboys would be great!!!!:herewego!:

You could let The Chin and Jimmy Johnson coach.

Lynn Swann did that for John Stallworth, which supposedly played a role in Stallworth finally making it. I always thought that was silly just because Stallworth was always more deserving than Swann. Swann just got on the ballot because he retired long before Stallworth did. Swann only played nine seasons. Stallworth lasted 14.

No draft in NFL history comes close to what the Steelers did in 1974. There were deeper draft classes, with teams getting more contributing players, but four Hall of Famers in one draft ends the argument. That rookie class exemplified one major reason why the Steelers were so dominant in the '70s. They were simply better at scouting than everybody else.

Thanks guys about the comments on Troy (I hope he gets announced soon). Is it just me or is this years announcement weird and/or different than normal?

I assume it is because of the 100 year thing?

Although I agree that LC should've been inducted long ago I think Andy Russell is the larger snub.
