I think it will be a two team race. OSU and LSU. Clemson will have their hands full with LSU and Oklahoma wont be able to stop Ohio State. Should be a good playoff

Clemson. They got a solid defense and they put up points with the greatest of ease.

LSU for me.. OSU's QB Fields was not very good this game imo... No field awareness and isn't explosive enough to get out of pressure. Was he their QB all year?? What did he do, turn around and hand off to Dobbins all year? QBs matter in big games. I think Burrows comes away with it. LSU and Clemson will be a good matchup..

I'm only half joking about Fields...seriously though, he didn't do his team a lot of favors tonight. Granted this was one game, but jmo.

Wow, Fiesta bowl is OSU vs Clemson. That's gonna be a barn burner. I take Clemson.

Wonder what the line is gonna be on LSU vs Oklahoma? LSU gets a nice warm up game after a month off.

This schedule clearly favors the Tigers.

Wow OSU got to be wandering how this happened LOL?
What a bad draw. I wouldn't want to draw Clemson.

Feels bad. Only struggled for one half of football against the 8th ranked team in the country (won the game by double digits anyways) and managed to fall... it is what it is. You have to beat two really good teams to win it all anyways, but I cant say I agree with that at all. Better resume, more wins vs ranked opponents, better margin of victory against ranked opponents. Only metric I think they went off of was well LSU won big and OSU struggled for a half, so yeah switch them.

Just Read that Fields is only about 85 % the article said he is having
a knee issue that was hurt in the Penn State game? I have also heard that LSU
starting RB may not play against Oklahoma?

After seeing Burrows throw for 7 TD's against Oklahoma, I am wondering how the Bengals screw the #1 pick up. They'll probably pick the QB from Eastern Michigan who decked the ref at the end of the game.

They need so many positions filled they will trade that 1 pick and still get a QB like Hebert in the bargain, most likely trade with the dolphins to stock their roster......

Is it me or have the bowl games lost their relevancy? Not playoff games but the regular games. They seem like a remnant of a bygone era. Especially with players sitting the games out so they don't get hurt.

Too bad they can't use all the conference championship games of all the major conferences as the bowl games. At least the games would have weight to them. But it's too late since they have a lot of CFP implications. All the bowl games are just exhibition games that seem to have lost their appeal.

    Am I the only one?

Players sitting out have definitely taken the luster off what bowl games use to be.

Even those seniors/juniors have their eye already towards the NFL and just don't want to get hurt.

Winning just isn't as important as it use to be

You are not. I have noticed it too.

As NB stated, players now view these Bowl Games as high risk/high reward anymore. Some might need one final good performance to boost their draft stock. Others simply do not need that as they are likely going to be either a Top 5, 10, 20, First Round or Top 50 player by the NFL Draft Advisory board.

It stinks to have to "crown" the forerunner of all of this but Jaylon Smith is the one that started it all; not deliberate no less. Yes, Jaylon Smith has recovered but I still do not see that legendary sideline to sideline speed, agility and quickness before his accident at the Fiesta Bowl.

Players who are likley going between Top 5 to Top 50 are not going to risk it all due to that incident. They risk millions should anything major happen to them. Too high a risk for some.

Now, all this said, since 2014, I only focus on prospects anyways. The bowl games really do not excite me as much. I will say that this year's Fiesta Bowl was the best bowl game I have seen in some time.
