Even the Russians, China, and Ukraine combined couldn't help his chances.

You could of had Bill Walsh out there and you wouldn't of had any better offensive results.

80% is the players, 20% play calling.

This team went as far as it's defense could take it, until it couldn't anymore and just ran out of gas.

You could tell it was out of gas yesterday.

If Tomlin went 10-6 he probably would have won Coach of the Yr..

Part of me wants to say fire Tomlin yes.. but the more and more I look into it and think.. lets give him another year and see if he can improve things..

WE have one of the ****tiest OC in the NFL (who needs to be fired a lot quicker than anyone else..other than Jordan Berry)..

We had a 3 and 4 string QB take us to an 8-8 record with mediocre playmakers for our skill positions..
Look @ the playoff teams right now.. All (maybe with the exception of Tenn) have a QB you can build a team around.. Tenn just has better playmakers @ RB and maybe even WR than us.. Tenn was lucky once they put Tannehill in.. But he's not a "person to build your team around"

He was smarter towards the end of the season and didn't play Artie Burns..

Granite, our team is lacking in several positions, but there are teams with better talent in skill positions in the nfl who did worse than we did..
having a good qb will determine your season..

He somewhat managed to do ok with our replacements offensively (Whyte, Holton, Hodges, Rudolph) and we still got to 8-8..

No one likes the way our season ended (especially being out coached by the RATBIRDS) but fixing 1 or two things offensively, we can be back in the 10-6 convo for next year..

Ah yes imagine the worst case scenario because that's all you can do. Just stick with what we have because it's SAFE.

It seems to work for the masses that are losing their minds and jumping off the cliff.

We should just fire everyone, because that has always worked for successful organizations.

How'd that turn out for the Pens? Damn I wish Dan Bylsma was still here. Good organizations know when a change is needed, they don't cower in fear. I'll also add Green Bay this year. They should have held onto McCarthy right?

Any chance he had went out the window with how they finished the season.

I'm not going to beat on him for it this year but this is two seasons in a row his team has had trouble down the stretch.

I agree with Pompeani who said that Flores in Miami did a better job pulling off a 5-11 season with what he had (and beating the Pats) vs. what Tomlin did.

Coach of the Year should go to either John Harbaugh or Kyle Shanahan. The former brought forth the absolute potential of a QB who was thought of not throwing the football. The latter has been winning games in various ways all throughout the season.

Heck, I would even give Brian Flores consideration at this point. The 2019 Miami Dolphins should have looked like the 2008 Detriot Lions. They did not. Instead, they have turned in a 5-11 season; far surpassing many people's expectations.

Like @Blast Furnace stated, this will be the second time this team has collapsed down the stretch. While I also will not want to show Tomlin the door, he now has one more season to do it. Should anything else happen other than, at bare minimum, an AFC Championship appearance next season, Tomlin is gone for good.
