    Lol Chickillo as the starter..IF Bud leaves, The Steelers will imo,...Sign a mid tier FA...Chickillo as a starter... He's hanging on by a thread to be a backup!

    Here in lies the issue. Since the new CBA was issued back in 2011, per Article 7 in which teams are allocated to option the fifth year on a first round player, Pittsburgh has always chose to elect to pick up the fifth year option on players who will stay on the roster for the long term. Players that have not had their option picked up did not stay with the team.



    T.J. Watt will get his fifth year picked up before his extension. The big payday will come soon thereafter.
