JuJu now has a WR1 to take the pressure off him. Washington can ball

Yeah but some will still have something bad to say about him. It is pretty funny when they get him involved he produces but when they kinda give him 1 or 2 looks he don’t. However on the other side DJ needs to bounce back from a bad game today. Love what this group can bring juju, JW, DJ and Cain can be a very good group.

Washington and Hodges bonded over a Duck dinner. He is coming into his own and I like it.

Careful duck is really greasy, don't want Washington getting it on his hands.

JW will be just fine. He is a worker with a good work ethic.
If he keeps working he will be employed a long time with Pgh Steelers.

A legit #2 WR, and will have to been given his due by defenses in the future.

    Hey Steelers304.

It is great to see Washington starting to live up to the billing. Like I have been stating for a while now. We do not need a "True" #1 receiver by NFL or Team standards. If our trio set of JuJu, Washington and Johnson (also Cain?) can all equate to a formidable set of #2s that would be awesome. Now, sprinkle in a healthy Connor, and for crying out loud coaches get the two TEs involved; who, IMO are very good. All of this working in unison can potentially give opposing teams a lot to think about. I also really like what Samuels can offer from a pass catching standpoint as well.

This is about coaching as much as about talent. So, far, I have not seen this coaching staff fully utilize their "O" weapons anywhere near their full potential.

This is the player the Steelers thought they drafted last season. He can make big plays and he makes tough catches. Plenty of receivers don't complete the catch he made on that touchdown.

They still need Smith-Schuster back. Johnson definitely had a rough day, though he did come through on that huge third-down conversion late.

JuJu JW and Johnson in the slot is the makings of a decent WR core albeit JuJu is a very weak #1

JW is playing up to his potential now, also like what I see of this Cain guy. They both go and fight for the ball.

But seriously, Washington’s development is HUGE for Juju when he returns. Juju-Washington-Johnson suddenly looks pretty exciting

I agree. I think James is someone who needs to feel needed (and not in an AB kind of way, at least I hope not).

IMO, he needs more than just scraps like he was getting last year and half of them were very hard catches. Now he is more in the game plan and getting into a groove. I was a big fan of his before the draft and still am. With JW, Juju, DJ and now Cain we have guys that can go get it.

I'll admit that I think the best thing to happen this year for Washington was Ben getting hurt.

I don't believe Washington would have ever come out of his shell if Ben was still playing. Ben just got into his head early that he wasn't his receiver and things for Washington went downhill from there.

I think next year when Ben returns we will see those two lighting it up.

Just goes to show you that the right circumstances can make all the difference and also sometimes it takes guys a little longer than 1 season to succeed, before they should be thrown under the bus....;)

Stop it. Just stop. Stop posting things I agree with. I mean it. Stop.

The qb throwing JW the ball in college was MR. Hard to believe their trajectories are in such opposition. And I'm getting eagerly optimistic about the potential of Cain. He looks hungry and capable.

While his conversion was clutch, he did make a rookie mistake by going out of bounds and stopping the clock

I can handle that as a learning curve, just like Duck throwing away that last pass instead of sliding into the ground. This is a very young team. I cannot believe all the rook and 2 year guys they have playing.

What I am shaking my head at is MacDonald getting that procedure call..or was it 2?

Had a snoop on one of the Colts forums about Cain the consensus seems to be that he has all the physical traits to succeed but his route running needed a lot of work. If he can learn that then he could be very productive. The team could have a nice young receiving corp next season, especially if Ben comes back and can still play

Unfortunately Ray Sherman is not going to help him with that. We will need a competent WR coach
going forward to work with these young WR's in all phases of Wr play.
