I'm curious about something. With the success we've had with M. Fitzpatrick trade, are we now more inclined to try it again with a future first rounder, or do we quit while we're ahead?

All about circumstances... That one paid off and not all of em do. Time to start stacking again they're gonna need the help more options bring.

    What Dobbler stated.

It is all about circumstances. Realistically speaking though, there have to be VERY FINITE ones at play; Sean Davis' contract and injury being the prime example here. Minkah's situation now seems more so an early christmas gift from the good man upstairs given what Brian Flores wants to do with the Dolphins.

That said though, do not count the Steelers out from doing this in the future. Should another oppurtunity arise, Pittsburgh will play their hand without hesitation. Just has to be the oppurtune time to do so.

We need to go bring Donald back home and let him play some ball. The dream team is in full collapse out west.

I would give up a 2021 first rounder for Donald.

the 2020 Pittsburgh Steelers allowing 6 points a game only scoring 3

    Hey Spartacus.

As long as our administration remains incapable of drafting at a certain position then yes, why not? Thanks Miami for this one.

I would like to thank the dolphins as well. And, I would also, wish that we could follow their actions. By, trading away, the majority of our dead weight.

We gave more than a 1st round pick so we can't keep that up.

Donald makes over 20 million a year, the Rams can keep him. A DT can be neutralized, look at what Baltimore did to the Rams, ran all over them.

I agree with Dobbler. They give up a late round pick to get Justin Gilbert a player they had scouted in college and a first Rd pick by the Browns and his inner demons are too much for him and was a bust in that trade. They scouted Fitz and he had a probowl caliber rookie season even with all the moving around and playing on a bad Dolphins team, the Steelers give up a 1st to get him and it has been like winning the lotto ever since. The circumstances are everything in these deals.

I hope we get the bama RB. Naje Davis , I know I spelled that wrong. Just the kind of back we need. Then get WR and Oline

Is he some kind of gene splice between Naja Davenport and Carey Davis?

Does not matter. AB is paid in full after this year I believe, Shazier was only kept on as a decent gesture and he only amounts to about a millions against the cap. As it stands now we are projected to be about 7 mill under the cap start of the new NFL year. Even with the addition of a new cap increase, readjusting and dumping dead weight, we will probably only have about 25 to 30 mill...that goes very fast in this NFL.

I would agree on Davis if he falls that far...but alos you take a long look at what OL is available. We really need a soon replacement for Pouncey, Foster, and AV.

Colbert knew what he was doing with this trade.

Minkah was a great player in a terrible situation who wanted out. Well worth a 1st round pick that is likely to be somewhere in between 15-22.

In looking ahead to the 2020 draft, it is not a particularly strong class. Even the heavy QB chatter is dying especially with the Tua injury. Definitely a couple of studs, but I would certainly take Minkah over anyone that we would have likely drafted had we kept our pick. Considering FS was my biggest need going into last year's draft and it is even a better trade now.

Minkah trade was a great piece of business but I think they’ll go back to building through the draft in the future.

Rams are a great example of what can happen when you are continually trading away picks. Their roster is a mess imo

I hear you Steelwinds, here's hoping George Kittle becomes disgruntled in San Francisco. That's another position we suck at drafting.

In addition the Steelers gave up a 5th in 2020 for the Dolphins 4th in 2020 and a 6th in 2021 for their 7th in 2021. Overall that value is pretty darn equal with a slight advantage to the Steelers if either team is advantaged.
