    Mason also has less than 500 total snaps as a QB. Way too early to pass judgement on his career. That said, it is also too soon to throw in the towel on the season the same.

    Let Mason sit it out if need be. Ride the hot hand. It is Devlin's time for now. Should he falter like Mason, then pull Hodges out and put Mason in. Until then;

    Nope. Tomlin needs to give Duck a chance to play with a full week of preparation. He needs to work with Finney. Then the following week will be interesting when Pouncey gets back. Whose hands are on his junk?

    No way! Throwing the ball loosens up the D? Holy ****! Someone should tell Fuchtner!

    And about our failing O line; do you think that maybe they are looking artificially bad because the opposing defense can stack the box against the three or four plays Fuchtner runs?

    So your saying Duck will start this weekend then the following week is up in the air? If Duck starts this game, you are basically saying he's the starter the rest of the season.

    I don’t think it’s saying that at all. Starting Hodges right now is to try and spark the offense and at the same time giving MR some time to clear his head. Hodges should have the same expectations and leash as MR had. If Hodges can play at the lever MR was before these last 2 weeks he gets to keep his job. If after this week or next Hodges looks overwhelmed you can go back to MR. Neither one has really distinguished themselves to the point where they should be guaranteed the job.IMO

    No, they just look bad. AND the defense can stack the box against Fuchtnuts' 3-4 plays. I think 2 of them are Mason-look-like-statue and Mason-get-tipped. The other two are
    Pretty much. Duck should start and be given every opportunity to succeed this week. But that means he'll work with Finney. Then, depending on his performance, he might be changing centers the following week. None of us can predict at this point if he even makes it all the way through the game. Just more upheaval to deal with.

    So the Two QB system @AskQuestionsLater@AskQuestionsLater is crying about.

    So you won't give Rudolph his chance at revenge but will start him the next week?

    I’m not sure of AQLs stance. I’m not saying a two QB system meaning both of them play. I’m basically saying it’s Hodges turn right now and gets to keep it as long as he performs. Neither guy so far deserves to be granted the starting job regardless of performance. Play well ,you stay playing.

    I like Duck. He seems fearless and thats what we need. Someone who will give these young receivers a chance, and throw one up for them. He seems less serious and more "back yard" to me. Thats the kind of team we have.

    I think they give Rudolph the chance to bounce back. He will be on a short leash. If he fails to do well the 1st couple drives, Hodges will be coming in.

    But, Tomlin is gonna make the Browns prepare for two QB's, he won't make a decision until Saturday.

    Rudolph just hasn't shown enough to warrant another chance any time soon in my opinion. If you're trying to win now you have to go with Duck. He has far more pocket presence, mobility and just looks better overall. Rudolph has looked completely lost back there the last two games.

    if you're going for long-term development then it's a tossup. Personally I don't see either Mason or Duck as a franchise QB but you never know.

    Start Hodges, Mason is not focused on what he is doing and is so stiff in the packet. He needs an off season of footwork prep. We seriously need to shop around for an available seasoned QB. I don’t know of any but I’m sure they have a list. They could give Kapernick a look but it would likely be more of a negative distraction that we don’t need.

    "If" they give him his 5th chance to bounce back, since the Miami game, and he does what he did in his 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances where he averaged a QBR of roughly 60 and falling rapidly, he needs to throw a rocket for a TD on each of the first four series, or bench him:smiley1:

    Okay, to clear things up;

    1.) The whole two QB system is SDOTs idea. Not mine.

    Most importantly;

    2.) I explicitly stated, in multiple threads, to ride the hot hand. That would be Devlin at this current time.

    If anyone is worrying about "revenge" they're worried about the wrong thing. Start the guy who has the best chance to win the game, which means Hodges.

    I'm not even sure I want Rudolph starting a car the rest of the season. It should be Hodges job to lose at this point.

    I think Mason got his chance this past week. I'm not worried about hurting Masons feelings .Life is not fair. If you burn the fries at McDonalds you get replaced.This doesn't mean he never plays again,but right now Duck gives you a better chance to win.jmo

    Mason seemed to start out that way. Difference is Mason may be the least athletic QB in the NFL. He needs professional lessons for his footwork to make the most of what little mobility he has, That plus not throwing the ball when your feet are not in proper position. Having terrible mobility does not exclude one from being a pocket QB in the NFL. I wonder if anyone has ever discussed this with him?
