He is starting to consistently make plays. That catch, run, and especially the stiff arm were amazing and changed the entire game around. Seemed like the running game was more consistent afterwards as well. In a season where so much has gone wrong it'd be great to see him fully emerge as a legit threat. His blocking is already there.

With all of the injuries ar WR, Washington is getting a lot of targets now and has responded well to it.

I like Washington, a lot , but let’s also remember On 7 Targets he had 3 rec. for 98 yds & a TD, remove that one play and its 2 rec. for 19 yds on 6 Targets......

Play calling hurts this team, our TE had 1 target 1 rec for 1 yd..... OL can’t block and no running game....

I truly believe with an improved OL and run game and better play calling Washington can become a ProBowl caliber WR!!!!

When given the chance he has produced, he has fought an uphill battle with many people here.

If Ben comes back healthy next year then this season should be valuable experience for Washington moving forward as being part of a decent trio of receivers for Ben when you add in Juju and Johnson.

Let’s also remember if Washington would’ve caught a couple more of those targets he may of had 150 yards.

James Washington is having a late "Sophomore Surge" of a season. Better late than never but in this case it truly is due in part to Pittsburgh's playoff hopes. Here is hoping James can continue this upward trajectory as we will need him moving forward.

Catch over the middle for 79 yard touchdown. But hey, lets keep throwing him jump balls down the sideline!!

Hey, if we are going to make a deep playoff run, we don't want to be showing everything we got at this point of the season!

I know you're relatively new in these parts SF19 and if that's you in your Avatar I apologize in advance, but that "killer stiff arm" you reference is probably the best case of beating off a defender we've witnessed in quite a while, OK, ever since McDonald B-slapped that dude last year. :dancing::thumbs up: :roflmao:

Another big play being overlooked by Washington is that he saved Hodges from a early INT by committing offensive PI. You never know how a early INT would have affected Hodges. Hats off JW!

Even better....there are people still wasting time defending Switzer and hardly anyone praising JW for a solid game(for our O) and a game changing play, maybe two.

JW still has to prove himself I just don’t trust him........smh. Man first that solid block a few weeks back and now a monster stiff arm. I was a major fan before and even bigger as his role keeps growing.

He’s a excellent blocker. He’s involved in a lot of positive plays in the running game too.

That stiff arm was a thing of beauty but still takes a back seat to McDonald's.

I wonder what became of McDonald? Is he still in the league? I miss that guy

I agree. As much as I love Ju Ju, in the coming year you may see JW really emerge as the one they give the money to. They really need to find a decent WR coach this off season. They may play different, but JW's attitude reminds me a lot of Hines. Just get the job done.

JW was a hell of a WR in college, and he’s starting to hit his stride in the NFL. A lot of receivers don’t fully adjust to the NFL until year 3. Guys like JuJu can spoil us fans. I think JW will be a quality WR for us for a while.

    Hey Hanratty#5.

As I have been stating all along here, I think the departure of AB left some here by default to crown JuJu as a #1 WR. Maybe on the team but not by NFL standards. Even on our team, he has fallen short of this "honor". He was the beneficiary of AB and Ben. If he ever becomes a true NFL #1 caliber WR great. If he just becomes our #1 great. I could live with him, Washington and Johnson all working in unison complimenting one another as a formidable group of NFL caliber #2s. That would definitely cause some headaches for opposing "Ds". They are all talented and with time will get a better chemistry together. Now throw in an effective running game, and the Invisible TEs, and of course a healthy Ben and we are very good again. We really are just a QB away (Ben still has some time left). HOWEVER, we unfortunately are still stuck with the same crummy set of coaches.
