Hodges came in and threw 3 passes, a TD. After that, 2 completions. 5-11. If you looked at some of those passes they were as off as all says about Rudolph. I also feel that Rudolph is shaken and needs some time away. For how long who knows. He might be the starter for the clowns game. I appreciate that Duck came in and we just got bye a 0-11 team. Im not in the prediction crowd but again this offensive line has to rebound, To me they are the major reason this offense is inept, especially AV. To think that JuJu and Connor will come back and be the saviors is laughable. Will they help? Absolutely. But they need more contributions from the lower tier players on a consistent basis. And what happened with getting the tight end some plays? Almost non existent. ???? This offensive and I mean offensive coordinator best be gone after this season. He is clueless.

    Hey steelersrule6.

I think that the bigger issue here, IMO, is what supporting cast will that QB have? We need a return of the following:

    • A running game (Connor)
    • JuJu
    • A strong O-Line
    • The "Invisible" Tight Ends.

Two and it will probably be more defense oriented. Doesn't this team throw to Vance McDonald anymore ?

With this team with THESE players, does it really matter? If we, by some miracle, even made the playoffs, the only thing we would get............ would be embarrassed! Right now, the best thing we can do is pray Ben comes back completely healed next spring!

At this point with the mash unit that is our offense I'm just rooting for us to be playing meaningful games for as long as possible. That we are not just still alive for a playoffs spot but actually in one at this point is pretty remarkable.

    I agree here...
Is Connor really our solution.. He does well (at times) but is very injured bitten.. I don't like Edmunds in the back field.. When Connor comes back, do we keep Whyte or do we send him to the practice squad?? I think Connor, Snell and Samuels are the top three (maybe not in that order) but Samuels helps in the passing game... I think Snell can become an every down back (but injuries are hurting him as well)...

Juju... needs another WR to help take some pressure off of him... Who loses their job to Cain??? Or does he go to the PS??? I think Holton may be safe due to his ST play.. but can Cain run ST?? I haven't seen too much from Tevin Jones, so that would be my lock to be sent down... Johnson and Washington both had three catches yesterday. If we go 4 I say Ju, Johnson, Washington and Cain.... If we go 5 then you can add Holton due to ST play..

O-Line.... Believe it or not.. I saw a stat we are 10-1 when Finney starts.. Now he is no Pouncey but thats pretty special there.. As for A.J.. Munchak made him look serviceable and now his true colors are shining.. not that good.. Its sad, we have pretty much the same O line as last year and we look like a whole diff unit.. That goes on the O line coach..

TE- What happened to McDonald?? Where has he been? He had one reception yesterday.. What happened to the VM I knew throwing Stiff Arms and running open like a tank?? I know our O line is bad, but have we tried any TE Screens? I mean the guy has some hands, lets get him the ball more.. As for Vannet.. pretty horrific call bringing him in..

It is truly remarkable. What the Steelers do better than most teams in the league are getting after the QB and creating turnovers. If you have a wrecking crew of a defense you can be competitive with just having the offense not turn the ball over and having a solid kicking game.

    Hey chuckie_os.

JuJu. I have stated numerous times that JuJu does not have to be a so-called #1 WR. Him, Johnson and Washington can be a formidable 3-Set that "Ds" have to account for if all three are healthy and playing up to potential. Add in Connor, utilization of our TEs, and a freakin' coaching staff that knows what collectively to do with these young men and we could be tough.

JuJu is dealing with a lot. The exodus of Brown, Bell, and Ben have all impacted his play. Plus his injuries. Not a great encore performance from last year. Hopefully, he fights through all of this. I think he will. Too many people thought he was seamlessly going to replace Brown. I hope he did not think that way. I knew personally this was not going to happen. Combined once again with no Ben, no Bell.

RBs. I think Connor is the best that we have. That is no insult on Connor. He like JuJu has a tall order to fill if people thought like Brown-JuJu transition was going to be smooth. Opposing teams had to really, really game plan for Bell. Not so much Connor. Just let him do what his strengths dictate. I do like Samuels receiving ability. It is a nice change up. I also stated last week that I like the speed of the Whyte.

The O-Line. I guess they have been playing ok according to various stats from various media outlets. Once again they were built more for finesses than power and Connor is the opposite. However, Connor has been successful with this O-Line. He just has to get, and stay, healthy. He can, and has been successful with this line.

The TEs. I am really disappointed in their "Houdini Act". However, I am going to blame this one on the coaches all the way. Vance is a monster and I do think that Vannett is serviceable and more than capable of contributing.

I would take a early exit from the playoffs, it's a accomplishment just to get there after starting 0-3.

I wasn't stating he have to be a so called #1... But at the same time, the other teams know he is our best WR when healthy so they will be putting their #1 DB on him... If other guys make catches, it can get other coaches to start thinking more about it.. I for one did not think he was going to replace brown... Brown was dynamic in a different way then Juju... I thought Juju would drop in production, but not as bad as this.. yes he has been injured but he is also having a hard time holding onto the ball and making catches that he made last year.. Having no ben definitely hurts him for sure... but i just think not having a healthy good rb is also hurting him...

I think we use too much of Connor and thats why he is always injured.. Now that Snell is healthy I think we can have a decent 3 back system.. Would like to get Samuels back in the Wildcat or James White role...

Who cares if its early exit or not? They didn't even get there at all last year and that was with Ben and AB.

    Hey TheTerribleOwl.

Yes, not much performance difference between Mason and Duck yesterday when you get down to the stats. Duck's TD was the game difference. Thank goodness for that. I have been in the Mason camp since he took over but gave him a wait and see approach after the Brown's game. These two are not even in the class of Ben's rookie year. I think that is what some here may be expecting.

On that note, as I have stated before, Ben was the beneficiary of a Great "D" that year and a Strong Skilled-Set Position "O". Even with that though, no excuses for Mason. Maybe a little more slack for Duck because of his limited playing time up to this point. However, from what I seen from Duck, even if he had the same amount of playing time under his belt that Mason has now, it really would not make that much more of a difference.

I hope that our current QB situation really has all of us, more and more, appreciating what we have in Ben. In the meantime, the Steelers and all of us have to just keep marching on. I truly believe that if we can get back all of our "O" weapons healthy, The "D" continues to play at this level and even better (Sorry "D" to put more pressure on you guys) and above all else the coaching staff can get "their collective acts" together we are better than what we have shown the last two games.

    Hey chukie_os.

I realize that you were not indicating that JuJu was/is a so-called #1 WR. Like you, I think some folks just kind of wanted that title to follow him because he probably is our best WR and also that Brown left. Once again, if JuJu, Washington, and Johnson can all be.... let's say formidable #2s that is GREAT! Throw in a strong healthy Connor and some good TE play and we are pretty good on "O" paper. Now, it is up to the QB and especially the coaching staff to put all of these pieces together in the most advantageous situations to be successful.

The coaching staff has me equally concerned as the QB play. Especially in the Red-Zone; where we continue to struggle. Still settling for FGs instead of TDs. This is still the same old problem, even when the B-B-B crew was in effect. Remember, the old we can score "30 points" every game talk when Ben was playing. Yeah, how often did that happen? This team has underachieved so bad over the past years considering all of the "O" weapons that we had. Super Bowl caliber IMO. As I like to say: "Just Disgusting". Now we got a "very good D" and a "not very good O". Go figure. Ugh!

The situation is already predetermined because the two players were signed off other teams practice squads. So White and Cain are on the 53 for three weeks meaning that once Conner is healthy, Edmunds will probably go back to the PS as will Tevin Jones.

While I agree 100% we don't have a chance in hell in playoffs I still like to make them just so we can remain top 3 of teams making the playoffs in the SB era. 30 times we have made it and been to 8 SB's. Little less then a 1/3 of the time which I'm guessing fans of about 30 other teams would not mind having.

The defense is getting better. Boyd made a great catch. Take that away and they only give up 3 points. I expect the defense to hold Cleveland to half the amount of points this week as last time. Just don't turn the ball over and make them earn it. That gives the team a chance. One game at a time. Beat the Browns and people will expect more going forward.

I think they can win out... That is if the coaching can just simply maximize situational ball... Make adjustments etc...

Tomlin seems to rally em fine enough but these coordinators need to wake up.
