Conner had 23 carries, that is not running the wheels off him.

True, but Tomlin should be taking advantage of every opportunity to get Conner off the field. Like it or not, he is fragile. Tomlin should use him accordingly. If Edmunds can’t plow into the line and hold on to the ball three times, he doesn’t belong on the roster

    Hey jeh1856.

Yes, statistically no you are correct for this instance. I do admit I do not have data in front of me to provide examples. However, we all know that it has happened going back to the Willie Parker days where the comment originated. However, the comment itself that Tomlin created, and I hear it occasionally from announcers, does irk me. I just do not see the productivity in doing it when a Steelers' victory is obvious. Other players need touches even if it is maybe three or four per game. I would hate to suit up knowing the only way I am getting in is most likely due to another player being hurt. Also, it must be looked upon by a case by case example. Connor has historically proven that he is not the most durable of RBs up to this point in his career. STEELWINDS

Conner's running style does not help his injuries. He jumps, spins, and fights for every yard. When Franco would run 23 times a game, he would do anything to not get hit hard. Even fall down at times and run out of bounds to avoid a hit. Although when needed he would also explode.

I also was saying before he got hurt last week to take him out before that as he wasn't needed. If we think like that and know how he is, why don't the coaches.

    Conner is officially inactive.

The Colts are also battling some injuries. T.Y. Hilton and two starting defensive backs are inactive today. Maybe that will even things out a little, but they still have that dominant offensive line.

Left guard Ramon Foster (concussion) did not practice Thursday and right tackle Matt Feiler was at left guard in practice today in his place while Chukwuma Okorafor reps at right tackle with the first-team offense, per @rayfitt1. #Steelers

I'm not sure I like this plan of attack. It seems like more change than necessary for one guy being out. Only thing I can think of is they want Feiler inside, to deal with Donald. But that means Chuk, with limited reps, will face Matthews and Fowler. I don't know.... I don't like it.

And it looks like Conner is out again.

Connor has been on the team for 2 1/2 seasons so far. Is it possible that he's now entering the final half of his career? I wonder. His running style isn't conducive to a long career. I'd think 3-4 yrs of being the workhorse is his limit.

Conner, Foster, Nix and Snell are all out Sunday. JuJu is questionable.

Man, the injuries really suck this year.

The Samuels/Edmonds Experience has now begun. Honestly, this season is really a glorified interview for next year's roster at this point. We are still a capable team (not necessarily good, but capable) but there isn't continuity within any unit. It is almost a different team week to week. I know that every team deals with injuries, but this is crazy.

It better be. He's the only healthy back they have right now. Edmunds is hurt, too. They could be down to their second practice squad guy as their only reserve running back in this game. That could get very bad very quickly.

Edmunds is roster filler as it is. Going even deeper than that puts them in a terrible spot because they just don't have the passing game to get by with so little from the backfield.

Steelers placed FB Roosevelt Nix and WR Ryan Switzer on the reserve/injured list, promoted WR Tevin Jones from the practice squad and signed LB Jayrone Elliott to the active roster.

James Washington confirmed WR Diontae Johnson participated in the entire practice Wednesday. Encouraging sign for the WR who sustained a scary concussion in a helmet-to-helmet hit against the Browns.

Source: JuJu Smith-Schuster’s knee injury is not serious for the long term but he’s not expected to play Sunday against the Bengals. Too much to overcome with knee and concussion protocol.

I don't expect JuJu or Johnson to play against the Bengals, that's why they're making all these roster moves.

Man, that report looks ugly this week. Both Vance and Vanette are banged up too.
They need a roster exemption because half the darn team is injured :lolol:
Edit: I can't read. Vance was just held out of practice and Vanette had an illness. hopefully they can both go.
