    Fascinating indeed.

    Have any evidence of this?!

I understand this, he is young and can play that is all I know.
We will just have to see how his career play's out. He is a game
    changer right now.

Go back to his games and take the eye ball test.

Troy SHATTERED the Strong Safety mold. Strong Safeties traditionally mainly served as the eighth man in the box and more. Troy went above and beyond that; revolutionzing the position FOREVER.

Ask players like Eric Berry, Jamal Adams and even Derwin James. Those players and more will tell you. No other Strong Safety did more in the 100 Year history than Troy.

I seem to remember Troy covering T.O. when he was with the Eagles.

And Minkah is a stud. It is so refreshing to once again have a safety that opposing QBs worry about. I think he has helped the CBs play more aggressively. Seems like we are breaking up more passes than in the past. Regardless, we finally have a true playmaker on the back end. Seems like he is a ball magnet.

    I did.

Been watching since 2008. Nice try but you came up short. Troy shattered the mold for the Strong Safety position.

Why else have Safeties like Jamal Adams and Derwin James been mutil versatile?! Did they just learn that from thin air?! Better yet, did Florida State and LSU just magically move both James and Adams for the sake of it?!?!

    Strike two.

I said STRONG SAFETY. Not FREE SAFETY. Ronnie Lott played Free Safety.

Why the rant, guy? Where in that post did you see a statement where I disparaged Troy Polamalu? Good Lord!

On a rookie contract, for two more years and then with a 5th year option. Dang man! That's good business.

I didn’t watch the game today, but watching the highlights, Minkah went off! Great day for him and happy to see the defense play a good game against a pretty good offensive team. Way to go boys!!

He didn't have to nor did he try very often. That wasn't his role. He saw the play coming before anyone else and would get to the WR just as he caught it and crush him in the process. Why cover someone if you can blow them up instead?

He was terrible in coverage his last few years, teams would target him then.

Minkah will be better than Ed Reed. There, I said it aql. Reason? He is a Steeler. (Only reason for now, give it time)

the Steelers should send Miami their 2021 first round pick also for Minkah just out of good faith.

For now?! Intriguing. He is a Steeler for life.

Pittsburgh has not traded their First Round pick since 1967. Clearly he is a part of Pittsburgh's future plans considering he essentially is a First Round pick for the 2020 Draft. He will be signed long term in time.

shame on me for even replying to this but I’ll take the bait.

You are flat out wrong. Put Minkah up to the LOS to stop the possible run and lets see how well he covers WR’s. Lol. I wont get into the fact they played different positions and Troy was expected to dominate the LOS, stop the run, blitz, and handle coverage oh and he did it as good or better than most everyone .

During Troy’s prime he was great at covering who ever he was on. As a SS that generally wasn't his role but when he did it , he excelled. It wasn't till his health slowed him down that he couldn’t run with most WR’s. He often shut down opponents best TE’s as well.

Minkah isn’t even Carnell Lake , let alone Troy in coverage. Maybe he gets there , but 5-6 good games doesn't a career make. Yes he’s a great ball hawk right now. Agreed.

I can confidently say that Minkah will never be as good as Troy. Just due to physical gifts alone he’s limited in his ability.

If Troy was allowed to just play centerfield and FS responsibilities not only would his career have lasted longer he probably would have had more int’s and insane statements like yours would not exist.

Is it too soon to get a mink jersey?

I need a watt for sure.

Watt 9.5 sacks 4 FF 1 int in 9 games. He’s crazy good

Minkah and Troy are not just two different players. They are two different ideologies all together. That said, one aspect about both is paramount.

When a player showcases "it" early in their career, they clearly are something special. Troy showcased "it" in his second season. Minkah showcased "it" towards the end of his rookie season.

Minkah is showcasing "it" in full capacity his second season. Best yet, like Troy, I doubt Minkah has hit his peak. He will only get better in time.
