Need a nfl veteran receiver.

Need to add a nfl veteran wide receiver...if JuJu..Johnson..or Washington...miss multiple games for whatever reason...the season will be even more compromised...I know josh gordon has had a troubled past drug use problem...but I thought he could have helped us by taking some of the load off of JuJu...I also think dez bryant could offer the same help...we don't need super star production...just need teams to play the steelers receivers honestly...not doubling and tripiling JuJu all over the field...and a guy like bryant would come at a decent price...so with moncrief rightfully gone and now with only 5 receivers...and with the switzer return-specialist experiment not working very well...would rather see d. Johnson returning punts...but they may not want that because he is now the # 2 starter...besides veteran dez bryant who has now recovered from the achilles injury...there is also crabtree and benjamin who can help...and all would offer a hell of a lot more than moncrief did !

 

Without Ben we rarely throw to our WRs ....Holton can't get even "1" target, JuJu can't get enough targets ...we could resign AB & it won't make a difference if he can't get targets

 

All those guys you mentioned are washed up, there is a reason they aren't signed. Crabtree lasted like a week with Arizona this season, Benjamin is fat and lazy, Dez hasn't played in 2 years.

Are you sure you are not just wanting to see AB's head explode? With all of AB's issues, he hasn't committed a homicide yet. Rudolph, Fichtner, Tomlin, and Ray Sherman would need body guards based on QB accuracy, play calling, Tomlin being well, Tomlin, and AB's position coach. TTF might even need a body guard.

Speaking more rationally, Roethlisberger helped AB make his money. A sane AB would help Rudolph make money.

 

I would rather have Moncrief back; he just signed with Carolina.

I agree with you in that Switzer is a waste of a roster spot.

In the Miami game JuJU came on as soon as we was moved back inside to the Slot position. Let Washington and Johnson rotate in and out on the outside WR position and keep JuJu inside where he belongs.

 

They better hope any of those 3 guys don't get injured

We signed a 4.34 guy, Terry Eright, from Purdue. He was with Seattle until recently.

Throw him out there. Why not? Is he gonna take snaps from Holton and not Edleman? So what?

Maybe they will at some point, they just signed him.

Mason is not reading coverages or does not understand the routes or both. His decision making is too slow when he’s asked to make reads. Holds the ball too long. Cant find wide open wr’s . He’s playing like a rookie even though he’s a 2nd year QB.

also doesn't help when wr’s cant catch but I actually think what ever WR that is available does nothing to help our issues. Take McDonald as an example... I don't think he suddenly forgot how to get open since Ben’s injury. Juju doesn't go from catching 100 balls to chump. The QB sucks right now.

Since Ben is still our starting QB next season I don't agree with insisting on the development of Mason. We should consider giving Duck a few shots if the offense cant score. Why not? How much worse can he be ? Maybe a series or two as a change of pace ?
