We ain’t not none in the AFC. :smiley1:

But you are correct, I did notice that. In 2017 2 of 4 at 9-7 made it.

Beating the Rams would be nice. They definitely need to beat the Browns twice and not lose one of those games. Then definitely need to beat the Bills. They have tiebreaker against Colts and Chargers which is nice.

Well, let's see. The Colts, Bills, Chiefs, and Texans are in our way for a wild card spot. If we win out, we give the Bills and Ratbirds each a L. That still doesn't get us the division and only gives the Bills their 3rd loss. If I am so presumptuous to say that we will win out, I at least have to say that the better teams will win their games as well, except for the games against us, obviously. But that still doesn't get us into the playoffs, either as a wild card or division winner.

So yeah, I can easily spell out how a 12-4 team doesn't make the playoffs. It has more to do with the other teams ahead of us than our record. Got it?

I hope they do but don't think they will. Sooner or later Rudolph will need to take the hand cuffs off and pass down field but from what I've seen so far he is not very accurate in doing so. Teams will be taking away his check down to the RB's. This offense just doesn't have any explosiveness to make a necessary run in order to string together enough wins to make it.

We need to beat the Browns twice just for the sake of continuing to ***** slap them and knock down the pundits who crowned them champions last July.

I watched most of the Ravens/NE game last night. Don`t put too much stock in the Ratbirds. NE looked lifeless, disinterested until they were down 17-0, then came to life for the remainder of the 1st half and made it 17-13. Not so much after that.

Ratbirds looked the same to me as when we played them.

This was as close as NE gets to mailing in a game. I think they knew they would have to put a huge effort in to win this one and they got lazy. I know Belicheat is angry about that performance and I think the psychological card he played was saying it was his fault. It also could just be a bad matchup for them. NE offense not quite what it was and they rely as much on their defense. Maybe NE defense is not set up to stop Ratbird type offense was also a contributor.

No. And if they somehow back in, they'll likely wrecked in round one.

Wasn't it the Pats that went 11-5 the year Brady was out and didn't get a wildcard.

The Steelers are currently the 7th seed in the AFC and of course only 6 make the playoffs. Here are the remaining schedules for the 2 WC teams ahead of us, the 6-2 Bills and the 5-3 Colts.
    Bills 6-2
    at Browns
    at Dolphins
    Broncos
    at Cowboys
    Ravens
    at Steelers
    at Patriots
    Jets

    Colts 5-3
    Dolphins
    Jags
    at Texans
    Titans
    at Bucs
    at Saints
    Panthers
    at Jags

Can't believe we are talking about the playoffs right now. We were a shanked fg from being 3-5 and everyone saying we are doomed, MR is not ready, defense sucks for letting teams drive for winning kicks, and MT needs to be fired.
One week at a time. Amazing what 1 missed kick can do.

If Pittsburgh can end up defeating the Bills in addition to that win accounting for going 6-2 along the way, Pittsburgh should have that final 6th seed locked up due to the head to head tiebreakers. Both Indy and Buffalo will have ceded those tiebreakers to Pittsburgh as head to head ones. The big issue at present is simply stacking wins.

Beat Los Angeles first. Stack those wins the same. Continue onward afterward.

I got it thanks yeah. However a few holes in your argument

1- I questioned if a team at 12-4 had never not made the playoffs and a very quick check (I may be wrong) tells me this has never happened and in fact I think it's only happened to an 11-5 team twice.

2- us winning out would indeed only hand the bills and ravens one loss each. However lots of the teams 'in our way' need to play each other.
    Week 10 chargers/raiders
    Week 11 texans/ravens and chiefs-chargers
    Week 12 colts/Texans
    Week 13 raiders/chiefs and pats/Texans
    Week 14 ravens/bills and chiefs/pats
    Week 16 bills/pats and raiders/chargers

I 100% guarantee that 12-4 is enough for a wildcard spot. Admittedly it's kinda a moot point as no way in hell we get to 12-4

Imagine week 14 will see an NFL first in your scenario here when the bills and ravens face off and somehow both get the W

I hope so, but they're going to have to improve in all three phases of the game, and MR is going to have to do a better job of finding open receivers for some longer passes, as he's still throwing into some pretty tight coverage.

Okay okay okay, I did not take into account the other teams ahead of us picking each other off. I still believe there is a way you can end up at 12-4 on the outside looking in, but it is very unlikely. The bills and birds playing each other will be helpful to the cause. And the colts and Texans play each other. Another loss up for grabs. Then there is the Pats who still play three of the teams ahead of us. So yeah, 12-4 should do it. Hopefully we win our next game so there's still a chance.

I wonty get caught up in it. I'm honestly happy, with everything that's happened, that they are at .500. If they make it, great. Who doesn't like bonus football? If they don't, but finish at .500 or better, I'll be satisfied.

I just consulted with Jerome Bettis and he said: "Heads - Tails". So I'm not sure where that leaves us.
