He's having his best season so far, and the Steelers don't have a first round pick next year. And they aren't likely to have the money in free agency to find a replacement for him. He has 6 sacks this season, which ties his career high.

Word is they attempted to resign him. He probably wants to test the market.

Agreed. While this has been his best season. He hasn’t been as bad as the Debbie downers would have you to believe

I agree, but his inconsistency does not warrant a top tier contract, he will get signed somewhere for top money and likely not fill the role. He is a good, but not spectacular player. Hungry teams overpay for this type of guy all the time.

first year he is doing anything, he is playing for a contract and a foolish organization will give it to him, good riddance bud.

Not happening I am afraid at present.

Some SERIOUS financial moves such as restructures need to happen for him to stay. His tag option is currently at 16 million via OverTheCap. Barring extreme circumstances, I would imagine that Bud has just priced himself out of Pittsburgh

He definitely wants to test the market. And the market will overpay. He’s gone.

He'll get into a better coached situation and be fine.

As others have noted someone is going to pay him a princely sum.

I'm not even they could sign, tag, or whatever him next year either considering they've got very little cap space projected for next year.

He’s playing good this year for sure. But in the past he was not so much. I just hope if they resign him he doesn’t go back to his old ways. I can’t take anymore where he just runs past the QB every other play.

Problem is we have NOBODY behind him. Chick, Ola, Elliott? Please.

And with no 1st round pick, and the 2nd round pick getting worse all the time, they may have to franchise him for a year.

Especially if it's do or die with Ben giving it one last shot next year.

He is on pace for 12 sacks this season. If he does that he might be tagged if they can find the money to do it.

Players always play their best when its contract time. When he gets paid he'll go back to doing 5 yard sprint and stops

Funny how they always play better in a contract year. Bud playing his way out of the burgh. Need the money for T.J. Watt. Ola keeps coming along nicely

Ola hasn't shown anything to be a capable starter in this league, those preseason plays are nice, but no splash plays at OLB yet.

His cap hit will be 34 million next year, it's Super Bowl or bust :hehehe:.
