Just my opinion, but after what we went through with Bryant and Bell and their suspensions I don’t want anything to do with this guy. In my opinion it would be sending the wrong message to the team.

Missed a tackle on Rashaad Penny in the backfield for a loss, instead it turned into a 36 yard TD run in a game we lost by 4 points.

 

Yeah he hasn’t played the best, but I didn’t expect him to play all that great anyway. Would’ve loved to seen an upgrade at that position this season.

 

Not yet. Wait until week 10 when Moncrief is still modeling a Steeler uniform....

Yeah they even say that they’re not exactly sure.
If cutting him guarantees us that third rounder then I’d do that in a heartbeat. I’m just not convinced it does.

 

I know it’s a little confusing the way it’s worded. The only question is whether they are counting Fort as a lost FA for the Steelers. If they rule in the Steelers favor on Fort we can probably still end up with a 3rd but if they rule Fort doesn’t count as a lost FA by us , cutting Moncrief would “ cement “ the comp pick because he wouldn’t count.

The Steelers blew it on this one. Gordon is a clear improvement over any receiver on the roster except for Smith-Schuster and Johnson. He's only 28. The injury is minor and he could easily be ready to play in a week or two. At worst, he screws up again and you cut him at little cost.

 

I think that might indicate that there is more going on behind the scenes than is being talked about. Low risk to put in the waiver claim and they didn't doesn't necessarily mean they dropped the ball. Could be they talked to people around him and decided that even the low risk was still to high for them. Or contarywise they might be total and complete morons incapable of doing anything

 

There are a lot of reports emanating from NE that his work ethic was poor, late for or wholly missed meetings, going missing and not being contactable etc. These are all similar issues to those he had in Cleveland. I’m sure the Steelers were aware of these reports and likely have more information than we do.

A lot of other needy teams passed on him too. On the face of it it’s a low risk pickup with a lot of potential upside but maybe they just decided that they just got rid of one headache and don’t want another.
