A Charger affiliation is a bad thing while they're still there! There's lots of players and coaches who've had big success after they're let go/moved on. Several in the HOF including Chuck Noll!

Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller were talking about Whiz today. They went through the Chargers’ offense, position by position, and discussed the injuries they’ve had (plus the Gordon suspension). They’ve had a pretty bad string of injuries on offense that have hurt their continuity. I’m thinking they kicked Whiz to the curb too quickly.

Wanted to add my opinion to this discussion. I have been on record in saying that the team would be best served with an Offensive Assistant to put some heat on Randy. Ken Whisenhunt would not be a bad starting point.

At the absolute worst, Pittsburgh will increase their position specific coaching totals to 13 if they do hire Ken as an Offensive Assistant. While that does not sound too good, sometimes it is better to have fewer chefs in the proverbial kitchen. I doubt there is bad blood between Ken and the Steelers now. If not now, I would elect to sign him in the offseason assuming he is still available.

Yeah right none of those guys have a job in the NFL, get a clue, the Steelers coaching staff isn't as bad as some of you fools make it out to be.

I feel adding Whiz to this staff would be so beneficial. The guy has been around and has seen it all, good and bad seasons, playoffs and yes super bowl. To think this guy stinks cause he don't have a job right no is crazy. The NFL is an up and down league, what is it like 6 teams will make the playoffs that didn't the year before?????

There is a lot of great points made in this thread and after reading them I think adding Whiz makes a ton of sense. I am not in favor of letting Fitch go right now since yeah we are very young at QB. This is where Whiz would help out. There is no way Fitch has the experience that Whiz has and that is not a knock on Fitch. I agree with those who feel Fitch is here cause of Ben however we just can't let him go in the middle of the season with these young players we have. Adding Whiz may help Fitch and that is the bottom line for me getting better means more of a chance to win. If at the end of the season what is the worst that can happen we let Whiz walk.....we let Fitch go and keep Whiz??? Who knows but to have this experience would be highly beneficial imo.

All this don't matter cause I am not sure Whiz would want to come back here and work for the guy who beat him out for the HC job here. Maybe I am wrong but who knows......

A thought crossed my mind that maybe Rooney is holding off resigning Tomlin because we might have a new GM in the near future. Maybe it's both of their decisions idk.

Packers laid down. They always get the big head.

Chargers also have been playing awful for a few games. They had enough this week apparently.
