I'm not against JW, I'm against his lack of production to date. First it was our HOF QB to blame, now he can't get going with a guy he has always had chemistry with, at what point does it become JW's fault?

Yes, the one pass was behind him and he was open and I'm not going to kill him for that one but it wasn't uncatchable either. JuJu and DJ both made tough grabs on bad throws.

He's been a disappointment so far and I think you know that.

First of all who said anything about chemistry? I am talking about production as well. 6 targets and I can remember 3 off the top of my head the first one went right through his hands totally catchable. The second way behind him and if you think that was catchable then conversation over cause that was not......not even close. The third I remember he was open deep and was over thrown.....not his fault but I guess the haters will say he could have ran faster whatever

Yeah I stuck up for JW when Ben pulled his bull crap with him but that has nothing to do with anything. I agree he isn’t putting up the numbers but until Monday who was???? Hard to put up numbers when you don’t get chances and when balls are uncatchable they aren’t chances. I think like I have said here before and others have as well. Once Mason gets in a groove we are gonna have a heck of a wr group.

If you don’t think he has been a disappointment then the conversation is also over.

    Keep making excuses.

And good to know that when you criticize it’s being objective but anyone else it’s hating. Whatever man.

I remember that. Wilson might seem like he did more because he was on a better team. He helped the Steelers win a Super Bowl. But Cotchery was more productive. He even caught 10 touchdown passes for the Steelers in 2013.

There were bad throws, but they weren't all bad throws.

Rudolph gave him a chance to make a play on a ball down the field in the first quarter. Washington got both hands on it, but couldn't hold on and it was nearly intercepted. I'm talking about the play that was initially ruled an interception, but the defender couldn't quite get both feet in bounds.

He's been about as bad as you can get for a 2nd rd pick. For whatever reason, he's just not making the jump to the pros.

The pass you cited, a game earlier in the year where he made a nice catch but inexplicably ran out of bounds, the play where he dove instead of running through it, targets but not receptions, he's just not getting it done.

NY Steelerfan will be by any minute now to smash his disagree button :lolol:

I can't believe people are still trying to make the excuse that any of these receivers aren't getting enough opportunities. Maybe that made sense last year, though I still thought it was crap, but not now. It isn't that Washington doesn't have enough opportunities. It is that he isn't getting open enough and he isn't catching the ball consistently even when he does earn targets.

I totally agree and that was what I said in my first post. I am not saying JW isn't at fault but come on you want to throw the 1 out of 6 stat out there that is ridiculous. right off the top of my head I can remember 3 of those and 2 out of 3 were uncatchable, the other one was perfect and dropped by JW. It is no secret I am a JW fan but guess what I am also a DJ, Juju, MR fan and want to see them all do good. JMO

I see they read my post and were trying to work Washington over the middle. He was open but Rudolph was throwing behind him. It wasn't his fault really.

Like I said before, JuJu needs the other WR's to step it up. With out help he's toast. Not many WR's in the NFL can beat double coverages , most WR's can be taken out of the game if the defense makes an effort to do so. JuJu will do nothing until the other guys start showing better hands and getting open. Mason also needs to throw better balls. He's missed some wide open opportunities. Was it Washington that was open for an easy 80 yard TD? I thought that was JuJu but had a few beers on board.

Juju and DJ could be a really good 1-2 combo in time.

Very hard to evaluate JW with the musical chairs at QB this season. No WR could thrive in that setup. I think the ability is there. He is not getting the numbers but he keeps going and is doing some nice blocking. Give him time, I would be totally against dropping him for a journeyman at this point.

Even allowing for the problems at QB Moncrief has been a spectacular disappointment. If he had even matched his IND / JAX production he would be an asset. He is gone after next week anyway as they will almost certainly be looking to recoup that 3rd round comp pick.

We need a below the radar receiver, someone who has humility and blocks rather than the distracting flashy stat padder, plus Washington has shown respectable athleticism, patience is, after all, a virtue, arrow up, the guy can catch, I'm in... stats, while important indicators, can be overrated

We need production and he has barely any. They aren't going to give up on a 2nd rd pick yet but the clock is ticking.

I feel as Mason goes so will JW, the kid can play the whole 1 for 6 is stupid. One pass way behind, one pass over thrown, one pass DROPPED and one pass caught. Not sure of the other 2 but I fully expect him to keep getting better each week.

Been waiting and hoping every week and will be hoping this week too but he’s a season and a half into his tenure. I wrongly compared him to Markus Wheaton once, that’s an injustice to Wheaton who produced much more than JW has. It’s not just 1-6, it’s nearly 2 seasons of very little production.
