Remember when some fans were complaining about giving up a first round pick for him, in only about 6 games he has proved it was the right move. He has three interceptions so far, that's probably the most from a Steelers safety since Troy was on the team.

Let me help this sloppy attempt at a thread, Mike Tomlin is that you? Anyways... 5 games with the Steelers he has 3 ints. 1 forced fumble. He helped create 1-2 other ints as well. 18 solo tackles and 5 assist.

Nobody we would draft in the 2020 draft would be this good.

Liked the move then. Like it even more with each passing game. Minkah is a Top 10 Prospect in the 2018, 2019 or even 2020 class. His combination versatility, football IQ and instincts as a playmaking Free Safety make him an unthinkably, colossally rare player. Add the fact that today's game is centered around exploiting personnel matchups and his value gets boosted even higher.

Minkah is everything us as Steelers fans have longed for in some time. For that matter, something more revolutionary is taking shape here. Pittsburgh has finally embraced the Single High Free Safety's value and role in today's NFL. No longer does the team have to rely on players like Sean Davis.

Now, the team as an impact playmaker in the back end; one who will act as a deep threat and slot eraser to mitigate or neutralize said weapons the same. Overall, Minkah in time, could become what Troy was to this defense.

By the way, yes! I did just say that.

Sloppy would be your dumb attempt at playing GM, remember your trade Rudolph and Tomlin thread to the Redskins for Haskins and a first round pick :facepalm:.

Your half ass attempt at threads is exactly how I picture Tomlin in meetings leading up to the game...

    Tomlin - They are 6-2... 4-2... wait

    *thinks, it's week 9*

    Tomlin - They are 6-2...

*somebody in the back yells they already had their bye*

Tomlin - They have a lot of wins gentlemen and are a formidable foe.

It takes two seconds to google how many games he's played with the Steelers. It's just lazy. It starts at the top and it's trickling down to the fans. We need to be better.

It isn't just Minkah's individual numbers either. Since he got here this defense has been generating a ridiculous number of turnovers.

Finally they have an outstanding talented secondary player since the great Polamalu! Young and will only get better.

Unfortunately, as I have stated in other posts, now that we have what seems to be a "Legitimate D" we now do not have the "O" that we once did to complement it. And that was only a year ago. We could have been firing on all cylinders if not for B, B, and B all missing. Man what could have been. Hopefully, the "New O" can catch up fast. If so, watch out!. STEELWINDS

There is plenty of talent on this D. The teaching and play calling, i.e., coaching, is the problem. Has looked better of late though.

I remember Ed Bouchette was bashing the Steelers for giving up a first round pick for Fitzpatrick .

Fitzpatrick is better than Burns (aka a 1st round pick). Case closed
